    Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing system for a melt dip coating apparatus for coating a metal strip with a metal melt (200). The melt dip coating apparatus comprises a roller dipping into the metal melt for deflecting or stabilizing the metal strip as the latter passes through the metal melt (200), the roller having a roller body and a roller journal (224) and an airlock which surrounds the roller journal (224) with an airlock chamber (232), and a means for feeding the gaseous medium with a gas pressure into the airlock chamber (232) in order to seal off the airlock chamber (232) with respect to the metal melt (200).
