  • Patent number: 6266067
Abstract: Method and system aspects for more intuitively presenting a relationship for static chart data from at least two static charts are described. In a method aspect and system for providing same, the method includes obtaining data from first and second static charts. The data from the first static chart is displayed as a beginning chart. The displayed data from the first static chart is adjusted to visually indicate a change in the data required by the data from the second static chart as an ending chart.

  • Patent number: 6211335
Abstract: A method for joining tissue comprising aligning and abutting edges of the tissue to be joined applying biodegradable, biological solder or an analogue thereof, across the edges and exposing the solder to an energy source under conditions which provide transfer of energy from the source to the solder to cause the solder to bond to the tissue surface adjacent the edges to provide a weld holding the edges together.

  • Patent number: 6046297
Abstract: Polyurethane prepolymers are disclosed prepared with mononuclear aromatic diisocyanate such as toluene diisocyanate and an aliphatic diisocyanate such as H12MDI. These prepolymers can be cured with 4,4'-methylene-bis-(3-chloro-2,6-diethylaniline) to form a cured urethane elastomer with reduced propensity to crack during the curing process, extended pour life (a slower rate of viscosity buildup after curative and prepolymer are mixed), low hysteresis, and a low level of free toluene diisocyanates and/or other toxic or volatile substances to increase worker safety during processing. It has also been found that prepolymers made from toluene diisocyanate and cured with a blend of two aromatic diamine curatives yields urethane elastomers with the same reduced propensity to crack during the curing process.

  • Patent number: 5791756
Abstract: A distributed lighting system has a light source and a set of optical conduits. Input ends of the set of optical conduits may be placed in close proximity to the light source to increase the efficiency with which light is transmitted from the light source to the optical conduits. The efficiency also may be increased by placing a light collector between the light source and the input ends of the optical conduits.

Inventors: George Robert Hulse, Ronald Owen Woodward
  • Patent number: 5703193
Abstract: A process for reducing the amount of residual organic diisocyanate monomer in a polyurethane prepolymer reaction product mixture which comprises distilling the polyurethane prepolymer reaction product mixture in the presence of a combination of at least one inert first solvent with a boiling point below the boiling point of the residual organic diisocyanate monomer and at least one inert second solvent with a boiling point above the boiling point of the residual organic diisocyanate monomer, at a temperature which exceeds the vaporization temperature of the residual organic diisocyanate monomer and which is below the decomposition temperature of the polyurethane prepolymer.
