Patent number: 6536145Abstract: A display device is provided which is formed by first and second outer panels and a third, inner panel disposed between the outer panels. The outer panels are joined together separately from the inner panel in a first portion of the device and each of the outer panels includes a slit in this first portion and fold lines therein for enabling the joined outer panels to be pulled apart and separated along the slit to expose the inner panel for display. All of the panels are joined together at a further, base portion of the device. The fold lines in outer panels provide folding of parts of the outer panels forming the base portion of the device into a support arrangement for the device. In a first state of the device, the inner panel is shielded from view by the outer panels and the inner and outer panels form a unit of a substantially flat, planar configuration, and, in a second state of the device, the inner panel is exposed for display and is supported by the support arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Inventors: Ronald P. Patent number: 5732491Abstract: A display device for planar elements such as diskettes, credit cards and the like comprises a support portion and an integral display portion constructed in such a manner that the portions are relatively movable, through a periscoping action of the display portion, between a planar configuration of the device wherein the display portion and thus the planar element is substantially covered by the support portion, and an erected configuration of the device wherein the display portion extends upwardly from a support formed by the support portion so as to display the planar element. In one embodiment, the element is supported by a retainer band while in another a pocket is formed between a display panel and an end panel of the display portion. In another embodiment, an end panel comprises a pair of folded over panels, one of which includes a notch in an edge adjacent to the fold line so that the end panels form a recessed pocket for, e.g., a credit card.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1996Date of Patent: March 31, 1998Assignee: Ronald P. Burtch & Associates LimitedInventor: Ronald P. Burtch

The display portion comprises a first end panel including a tongue which, in the erected configuration, extends through a central slot in the display portion and a base including shoulders disposed on opposite sides of the tongue. The support portion includes two pairs of serially arranged panels which, in the planar configuration, lie flat and overlie respective faces of the first end panel and which, in said erected configuration, form the support for the first end panel. An opposite end panel is secured to the first end panel.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1996Date of Patent: March 25, 1997Inventor: Ronald P. Burtch

Patent number: 5465961Abstract: A novelty punch-out game card comprises punch-out elements for, when assembled, simulating elements of a sporting game such as basketball, football or the like. The punch-out card comprises a card member including a plurality of elements adapted to be punched out therefrom and then assembled to form the components used in the game. The elements include a mountable element which is adapted to be affixed to a suitable item, a target element integral with or affixable to the mountable element so as to form a target, and at least one projectile element, for, in use after being punched out of the card member, forming a projectile adapted to be propelled at the target. Further elements, which are adapted to be punched out from the card member, form a propelling device for propelling the projectile at the target.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1994Date of Patent: November 14, 1995Assignee: Ronald P. Patent number: 5361521Abstract: A display frame is provided for displaying a baseball card or the like. The display frame includes a planar front section including framing portions defining a display or viewing opening for the card. A planar rear section is folded over from one edge of the front section and includes an erectable support assembly erectable from the plane of the rear section for supporting the display frame so as to enable the display frame to stand up on a support surface. A pocket forming intermediate section is open at the top and includes spaced side portions one of which is folded over from the opposite edge of the front section. The intermediate section is disposed between the front and rear sections so as to form a pocket behind the display opening in which a card can be received for display. A method for making the display frame and a blank used in making the display frame are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1993Date of Patent: November 8, 1994Assignee: Ronald P. Patent number: 5259133Abstract: A pop-up display device is erectable to provide, for example, a pop-up action figure as part of a baseball card or the like. The device comprises a flat base portion forming a support for the device and an erectable display portion disposed in a non-erected state so as to overlie the base portion and including a pop-up portion partially cut out from the erectable display portion adjacent to a central transverse fold line therein. Disposed between the erectable display portion and the base portion is a pull tab member which includes a pull tab located at one end thereof and which is secured to the erectable display portion such that a pulling force exerted on the pull tab will cause the erectable display portion to elevate from the plane of the base portion at the fold line and to thereby cause the pop-up portion to be erected so as to extend outwardly from the remainder of the erectable display portion at the fold line. A blank for making the device is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1992Date of Patent: November 9, 1993Inventor: Ronald P. Burtch

Patent number: 5037099Abstract: A game device for simulating the card game of draw poker comprising a base having five windows formed therein and including, at, for example, five discrete locations on one surface thereof, card representations used in playing of the game. Each of the card locations is masked by a removable covering, such as scratch-off metallized film, so that the car representation at that location is revealed only when the covering is removed. A slide member, carrying plural rows of five cards forming different poker hands, is disposed in a pocket formed in the base and is slidable with respect to the base so that the various poker hands can selectively be brought into registration with the windows in the base. A selected number of the card representations on the base, when revealed, can be used to form different combinations (hands) with the card representations on the slide member.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1990Date of Patent: August 6, 1991Inventor: Ronald P.
