  • Patent number: 6350290
Abstract: A dust collector for handling high temperature process gases such as air containing dust and dirt. The collector includes a cylindrical filter housing and a clean air plenum mounted over the housing. A series of ceramic filter tubes are mounted in a tube sheet situated between the housing and the plenum and hot dirt containing process air is drawn from the housing into the plenum through the filter tubes. A blowdown system is mounted in the plenum over the filter tube for periodically pulsing a jet of dirt removing air into the filter tubes with sufficient force to remove dirt and dust collected upon the filter tubes. The valves and the inlet piping to the blowdown tubes are protected from the heat generated in the housing by a pair of spaced apart heat shields that are designed to conduct a natural flow of cool ambient air over the pipes. Heat exchanger fins are mounted upon the pipes to further enhance the cooling process.

  • Patent number: 5345982
Abstract: A drive-through adjustable hood assembly for enclosing a transit mix cement truck during the filling of dry material so as to contain and capture dust and particulate matter. The adjustable hood assembly is mounted on an expanding and retracting frame system. Entrance and exhaust ports are provided in the hood so that a truck can be filled and the resulting dust removed to prevent contamination of the atmosphere. A clam shell type enclosure is thus provided which in the extended open position allows unobstructed access into the adjustable hood assembly and in the retracted closed position provides intimate wrap-around enclosure of the cement truck during filling and dust removal operations. The width of the assembly in the extended open position can be varied by making minor mechanical adjustments to the frame system.

  • Patent number: 5308369
Abstract: A cylindrical filter bag including a wire mesh cage is provided with an access opening in the cage proximate to the open end of the filter bag. A resilient snap band is provided around the outer circumference of the cylindrical filter bag. The snap band includes a pair of felt rings formed around the band and an annular groove between the rings. The snap band thus provided can be depressed into the access opening in the wire mesh cage to allow the filter bag to be readily positioned in an airtight manner within a circular hole provided in the tube sheet of a dust collector. The hole in the tube sheet is provided with a collar having a radially extended flange portion that is attached to the top surface of the tube sheet to center the collar above the hole. The wire mesh cage of the filter bag is further provided with a reinforcing sleeve that mates with the tube sheet collar, and a venturi that is positioned concentrically within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5191909
Abstract: A drive-through dust hood assembly for transit mix trucks is provided by a pair of side curtains that are pivotally mounted on a top closure panel and which cooperate to close about the end of a truck and the mouth of the mixer drum to capture any dust created by filling thereof. The side curtains may be pivoted from the closed positon to an extended position for easy transit mix truck access when not exhausting dust. The side curtains of the closure are made of flexible sheet material that will conform to the irregular size and shape of various style trucks, so that filling dust does not escape to the ambient air. The exhausted dust is captured in a bag house or other suitable filtration facility for reuse or subsequent disposal. Swinging curtain closures are used for the back of the truck to permit efficient closing of the back area while allowing easy pivoting of the curtains should the truck not fully clear the open assembly.
