  • Patent number: 10920866
Abstract: A vehicle driveline component that employs a latching actuator to toggle between a first operation mode and a second operational mode. The latching actuator includes first and second actuator structures, a biasing spring, which biases the second actuator structure away from the first actuator structure, a linear motor, which can be operated to drive the second actuator structure toward the first actuator structure, and a plurality of linkages that cooperate with the biasing spring to releasably lock the second actuator structure relative to the first actuator structure in each of an extended position and a retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5584515
Abstract: A vehicle door latch assembly including a lock mechanism actuatable between a locked and unlocked condition and providing a double locking feature. The lock mechanism includes a first locking member adapted to selectively rotate about a first axis between locked and unlocked positions respectively corresponding to the locked and unlocked conditions of the latch mechanism. A second locking member is provided which is adapted to rotate about the first axis adjacent to the first locking member. The first and second locking members may be selectively coupled and uncoupled. When coupled, the second locking member may be selectively rotated about the first axis to move the first locking member between the locked and unlocked positions. When uncoupled, the first locking member is operable to move between the locked and unlocked positions independently of the second locking member. A control member is moveable axially to couple the first and second locking members.

  • Patent number: 5498040
Abstract: An electrically operated latch device which includes a base, a striker moveable relative to the base, and a latch fork mounted on the base which is rotatable to capture the striker to prevent movement of the striker relative to the base. The latch fork captures the striker when the latch fork is in a first position. A pawl is rotatably mounted on the base and moveable between a position blocking rotation of the latch fork and a release position permitting rotation of the latch fork. The latch device also includes an electric actuator having a drive member. The actuator moves the drive member to an actuated position when the actuator is electrically energized, the drive member directly engaging and holding the pawl in the release position when the drive member is in the actuated position. When the drive member is in the unactuated position, the pawl is permitted to rotate to the blocking position.
