  • Patent number: 11204984
Abstract: A method implemented by a computing device is disclosed. The method includes: detecting a change in state of an application that is managed using an applications manager, the change in state being based on a first action within the applications manager; in response to detecting the change in state of the application: identifying at least one list of a plurality of application event listings stored on the computing device independently of the applications manager; determining that the at least one list includes one or more first application event listings associated with the application; and in response to determining that the at least one list includes the one or more first application event listings: determining a second action to apply to only the one or more first application event listings; and applying the second action to the one or more first application event listings.

  • Patent number: 10477468
Abstract: A mobile communication device identifies and selects a wireless local area network (WLAN) available for communications in its coverage area. Automatically, without detecting any requests made by a user via a browser application. The mobile device initiates a request (e.g. an HTTP GET request) to a predetermined server site of a communication network which is outside of the WLAN. In response to initiating the request, the mobile device receives a response message via the WLAN and identifies, from the response message, whether the request to the predetermined server site has been redirected to a redirect server site. The WLAN may be a WLAN “hotspot,” where the redirect server site is a login server. The identifying may be performed by comparing content from the response message to predetermined content of the predetermined server site. In response to identifying that the request has been redirected, the mobile device causes an indication to be produced at its user interface.

  • Patent number: 8180610
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a model-based diagnostic interface. An apparatus is provided for a diagnostic interface for a system having system data, system information, and a system model having a model nomenclature, the diagnostic interface comprising at least one computational object producing an output responsive to said system data, wherein said at least one object includes a binding of said system data to said system information, wherein said system data is mapped to said model nomenclature before being bound. A method is provided for making a model-based diagnostic interface for a system having system information and system data representing the status of said system, the method comprising the steps of modeling said system to create a system model having a system model nomenclature, mapping said system data into said system model nomenclature, and binding said system data mapped to said system model nomenclature to said system information.
