  • Patent number: 11718806
Abstract: A transformer oil basestock is disclosed that includes at least 99 wt % of naphthenes and paraffins, based on the total weight of the transformer oil basestock, wherein the weight ratio of naphthenes to paraffins is at least 1, as measured by GC-MS, and wherein the paraffins consist essentially of isoparaffins, as determined by GC-FID. In addition, a transformer oil composition is disclosed that includes the transformer oil basestock, an anti-gassing agent and an antioxidant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 10, 2018
Date of Patent: August 8, 2023
    Assignee: ExxonMobil Chemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Ronald R. Hill, Jr., Caterina T. H. Tran, Andrew P. Broenen, Shaival R. Mehta, Daniel X. Bien
  • Patent number: 10723930
Abstract: Viscoelastic fluid compositions are provided that have improved properties for suspending particulate active ingredients. Methods for forming the compositions are also provided. The compositions preferably have a non-Newtonian behavior, so that the viscosity of the composition at low shear rates is suitable for keeping solid particles in the form of a stable suspension while also providing a reduced viscosity at higher shear rates (such as a substantially reduced or minimized viscosity) to allow for pumping, tank mixing, and/or distribution of the composition, for instance by spraying.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2016
Date of Patent: July 28, 2020
    Assignee: ExxonMobil Chemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Ronald R. Hill, Jr., Syd R. Wright, Yang Yang
