  • Publication number: 20030071460
Abstract: A coupling for joining pipe segments together is disclosed. The coupling is derived from a standard fitting and has a housing with a socket and a first expanded region adjacent to the socket, a second expanded region adjacent to the first expanded region and a third expanded region adjacent to the second. A sealing member is positioned in the first expanded region, a retainer is positioned in the second expanded region and a support washer having transversely oriented radial and coaxial flanges is positioned adjacent to the retainer in the third expanded region. A lip turned inwardly on the second expanded region overlaps the radial flange and captures the support washer, retainer and sealing member within the coupling. The retainer has a plurality of radial teeth angularly oriented to engage a pipe and prevent its removal from the coupling.

A sealing member is positioned in the first expanded region, a retainer is positioned in the second expanded region and a support washer having transversely oriented radial and coaxial flanges is positioned adjacent to the retainer. A clamping tab turned inwardly on the second expanded region overlaps the radial flange and clamps the support washer and retainer against a shoulder within the second expanded region thereby also capturing the sealing member within the coupling. The retainer has a plurality of radial teeth angularly oriented to engage a pipe and prevent its removal from the coupling. The teeth are twisted about their longitudinal axes.

  • Patent number: 6499771
Abstract: An open end of a standard pipe fitting is enlarged in diameter to coaxially receive an O-ring and a retainer having a cylindrical surface. A plurality of locking teeth project from the cylindrical surface and are engageable with both the inner surface of the fitting and an outer surface of a pipe end inserted coaxially into the fitting open end. Each of the locking teeth have oppositely disposed edges facing obliquely inwardly and outwardly to engage both the pipe end and the fitting and resisting motion of the pipe end relatively to the fitting. In an alternate embodiment, a first plurality of teeth each have an edge facing obliquely inwardly of the fitting to engage the pipe end and resist motion tending to withdraw the pipe end from the fitting. A second plurality of teeth each have an edge facing obliquely outwardly of the fitting and resist motion tending to withdraw the retainer from the fitting.

  • Patent number: 5398590
Abstract: An ammunition canister includes a pair of injection molded outer shells with each shell configured for assembly with another shell to form the ammunition canister. Each shell is molded with guide surfaces for controlling movement of ammunition rounds within the canister. An injection molded spring housing assembly, rotatably mounted to one of the shells, includes a spring for applying torque to said drive sprocket and a crank and ratchet are provided for tensioning the spring.

  • Patent number: 5144097
Abstract: Carrier clip apparatus for use in linear linkless ammunition systems, including a cradle attached to a chain along with a plurality of legs, protruding from one side of the cradles, for guiding an ammunition round as the chain is moved in the linear linkless system and for enabling ammunition round transfer as the cradle and chain pass around a chain sprocket. Also provided is a retainer clip, attached to an opposite side of said cradle with a bendable edge portion extending to one side of the cradle in a spaced apart relationship with the legs, for releasably holding said ammunition round in the cradle and against said leg means.

  • Patent number: 4345504
Abstract: A feature of this invention is the provision of a mount for a Gatling type gun having a muzzle clamp which is journaled for rotation in a reciprocable mass and which reciprocable mass is journaled for longitudinal reciprocation with respect to stationary support guides. Additionally, the housing is coupled to the support structure by a combination of a recoil adapter and a rigid guide, one end of the adapter and one end of the guide having a common transverse attachment to the support structure, the other end of the adapter having a pivot to the housing which is journaled for longitudinal reciprocation to the guide. This arrangement increases the recoiling mass without significantly increasing the total weight, precludes bending of the recoil adapters, and reduces frictional interferences.
