Patent number: 9056623Abstract: A game animal transporting apparatus having a support tube attachable to the rear hitch of a transport vehicle and a support frame attachable to the support tube to function as an exterior cargo carrier. The support frame is rotatable in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction for ease of loading objects onto the support frame. The support frame is lockable in a horizontal position for transport. The support frame is detachable from the support tube. A handle and wheel assembly are attachable to the support frame to form a mobile utility cart. The cart can be wheeled to a remote location to retrieve a game animal and then returned to the transport vehicle, after which, the support frame can be secured to the support tube, the handle and wheel assembly can be detached, and the game animal can be transported to another location.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2014Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: VIKING SOLUTIONS, LLCInventors: Ronald R. Patent number: 9055738Abstract: A portable and collapsible game animal lifting apparatus comprising a horizontal base member, a vertical support member pivotably attached to the base member, a horizontal lift member pivotably and slidably attached to the support member, and a winch attached to the support member. The winch is operably connected to the lift member for raising and lowering the lift member. The winch is operable to unwind a winch cable from the winch and thereby lower the lift member to receive the game animal thereupon. The winch is further operable to wind the winch cable about the winch and thereby raise the lift member to a desired height to assist in transferring the game animal to a transport vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2014Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: VIKING SOLUTIONS, LLCInventors: Ronald R. Patent number: 7588123Abstract: A climbing tree stand includes a platform, a pair of support arms attached to the platform, and a pair of stirrup-like devices attached to the platform or the support arms and extending generally over the platform. The pair of stirrup-like devices are substantially rigid, and each comprises a molded plastic body. In one embodiment, the substantially rigid stirrup-like devices are attached to the support arms of the climbing tree stand and generally are curved downwardly towards the platform.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2004Date of Patent: September 15, 2009Assignee: Summit Treestands, LLCInventors: Ronald R. Patent number: 7232010Abstract: A hunting ladder for attachment to a tree or pole includes a plurality of ladder sections that can be assembled together to form a rigid structure, including side rails and rungs extending between the side rails. In an exemplary embodiment, the side rails comprise elongate structural beams. External bolsters, shaped to match and closely abut the structural beams and adapted to be mounted to the outside of adjacent ladder sections, couple the ladder sections together. Fasteners extendable through the side bolsters and the structural beams allow adjacent ladder sections to be coupled together and uncoupled, as desired. In an exemplary embodiment, a seat is attached to an upper portion of the ladder without requiring attachment of the seat to the tree or pole.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2004Date of Patent: June 19, 2007Assignee: Summit Treestands, LLCInventors: Ronald R. Woller, Scott Echols

Publication number: 20040216952Abstract: A modular ladder for mounting to a tree or pole includes a plurality of separate sections, each of which can be separately mounted to the tree or pole. Each of the separate tree mountable sections includes an upper step, a lower step, and a rigid frame element connecting the upper and lower steps. A flexible mounting element is used to secure the frame element to the tree or pole. Each of the steps projects radially outwardly from the tree when mounted, making it easier to use the steps in climbing the tree or pole. The steps each have a slot formed therein for permitting the nesting of the separate tree mountable sections one against another. In this way, the separate sections can be compactly configured for storage and carrying. Each of the steps is large enough to accommodate the user's two feet in side-by-side relationship. In this way, the user is not required to balance on only one foot while standing on the steps. The upper and lower steps are spaced apart by about two to three feet.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2003Publication date: November 4, 2004Applicant: Summit Treestands, LLCInventor: Ronald R. Woller

Patent number: 6397973Abstract: A non-climbing tree stand for hunting or other outdoor activities includes a platform and a tubular frame connected thereto and at least partly supporting the platform. A yoke is connected to the platform for engaging the tree and a cable couples the platform to the tree with the ends of the cable carrying a series of nuts securely mounted there adjacent. A cable retention bracket is detachably mounted to the tubular frame for releasably securing the cable ends using the nuts on the cables. The cable retention bracket includes keyhole-shaped openings for receiving portions of the cable. The yoke includes two sections which are oriented at an acute angle with respect to each other to partly straddle the tree.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1999Date of Patent: June 4, 2002Assignee: Summit Specialties, Inc.Inventor: Ronald R. Woller
