  • Publication number: 20060285895
Abstract: A fuser member adapted to fuse toner onto the surface of a recording medium as the recording medium passes a nip area of the fuser member comprises a electrically conductive polymer layer, a resistive layer, and an electrically conductive layer. The fuser member further comprises a current supply roll and a current return roll, wherein the current supply roll and the current return roll are configured to provide current flow through the electrically conductive polymer layer and the resistive layer to generate fusing heat at the nip area.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 16, 2005
    Publication date: December 21, 2006
Inventors: Bradley Beach, Ronald Roe, Scott Wu

  • Publication number: 20060118540
Abstract: A semiconductive member has a polymer body filled with carbon black which is surface modified with azo linked organic molecules having an acid functional group. Control of conductivity is greatly improved and the strength of the member is improved by the reduced amount of filler required.

  • Publication number: 20050271949
Abstract: Slits and holes within a reticle for a local interconnect layer (LIL) are sized according to factors such as relative isolation and whether they are large or small. This helps overcome side-lobing and other undesirable effects of interference.

  • Publication number: 20050214033
Abstract: A toner layer regulating system for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a toner carrier; a toner regulating member supported in cantilevered fashion against the toner carrier so as to form a toner nip therebetween comprising a flexible metallic substrate having a coating covering at least an area forming the nip; wherein the coating comprises at least a matrix of a base polymer and a plurality of fine particles having a particle size of 0.1 microns to thirty microns; wherein the coating has a thickness of approximately one hundred fifty microns or less; wherein the coating has a surface roughness in the range of 0.15 to 1.5 microns Ra and in the range of 1 to 15 microns Rz. A carrier stratum may be disposed between the coating and the substrate, and the coating may be single layer or have a plurality of layers.

  • Publication number: 20050154173
Abstract: Polyurethane elastomers are formed from first and second graft curatives, each graft curative having a molecular weight of at least about 800, wherein the first and second graft curatives are substantially immiscible with one another, and wherein the polyurethane elastomer exhibits a hardness of less than about 40 Shore A according to ASTM D2240-86 and a compression set of less than about 8% according to ASTM D395-89, method B, at a temperature of about 70° C. for about 22 hours. Rolls are manufactured using such polyurethane elastomers, particularly rolls that are suitable for use in image forming devices, such as electrophotographic print applications.
