  • Publication number: 20200367041
Abstract: A system and method of automatically evaluating and communicating an emergency situation. The system includes a wearable beacon which includes an inertial measurement unit (IMU), a controller, a location tracking module, a microphone, a wireless communication module, and a portable power source. The method begins by receiving a current user location with the location tracking module. Spatial positioning and orientation (SPO) data is received with the IMU. Ambient audio data is received with the microphone. A distress notification is generated with the control is an abnormal-motion datum or abrupt-noise datum are detected. The abnormal-motion datum or the abrupt-noise datum is appended into the distress notification with the controller. The current user location is appended into the distress notification with the controller. The distress notification is sent to the recipient information with the wireless communication module.

  • Publication number: 20200058208
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing alerts to a user based on rules associated with data received from sensors. The present disclosure relates generally to a device and a method to monitor a user's voice. The device can evaluate sensor data received related to the user to determine if an alert is required based on a profile. When the sensor data corresponds to the profile, an alert associated with the profile can be generated. The alerts can include audible, visual, and haptic elements. In one embodiment, the profiles are associated with a volume of the user's voice, an emotional state of the user, and a health condition of the user. In another embodiment, the profiles define a normal state of the user. The normal state may include a normal volume of the user's voice, a normal emotional state, and a normal medical state.

  • Publication number: 20170213459
Abstract: A vehicle control system can determine a location and/or vector of a second vehicle by analyzing sounds received from the second vehicle. The vehicle control system can automatically configure the instrument display to indicate the location of the second vehicle to the vehicle operator. The vehicle control system can also provide a warning of an approaching emergency vehicle (law enforcement, medical, fire) to the vehicle operator. For example, the vehicle control system may generate and provide an alert that includes information related to traffic actions to take to avoid, or make way for, the approaching emergency vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20100208777
Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a distributed antenna system for distributing radio frequency signals within a coverage area. The system comprises a first unit and a second unit that is communicatively coupled to the first unit using a gigabit ETHERNET compatible communication medium. The first unit and the second unit include respective non-ETHERNET compatible media control devices and respective ETHERNET compatible physical layer devices. The first unit receives radio frequency signals and generates a digital representation of the radio frequency signals. The first unit transmits at least a portion of the digital representation of the radio frequency signals to the second unit over the gigabit ETHERNET compatible communication medium. The second unit reconstructs analog radio frequency signals from the received digital representation of the radio frequency signals for radiation within the coverage area.
