Abstract: Disposable and semi-disposable cleaning devices use lengths of folded and nonfolded non-woven fiber material interlaid with paper or waste fabric strips or ribbons or any other type of material. These fabrics are an alternative to yarn in the manufacture of inexpensive, disposable and semi-disposable products including mopheads, mats, drop sheets, furniture covers for movers, carpet protectors, cleaning wipes, mopheads, diapers, incontinence mats and the like. A particular embodiment is disclosed wherein a mop swab is made from the disclosed yarn substitute to provide a mop which is priced to discard after one time or several times use depending upon the type of material used in the construction process. The mop swab is formed from the elongate yarn substitute by wrapping about spaced arms and bunched to form a head attachable to a mop fixture. Tail ends may be looped or cut. Wipes may be made from the yarn substitute by forming a wrap and placing the wrap within a case-like cover.

Abstract: A warning sign for cautioning pedestrians away from spillages or wet floor areas is formed of a pair of swing legs connected at upper ends so that they can be spread apart form self-support. An extension member can be pulled upwardly from between the legs to enhance the visual warning effect. A catch in the hinge area selectively locks the extension member to an extended position when the legs are spread apart and allows the extension member to be lowered when the legs are swung together.

Abstract: A removable and replaceable filter and filter holder is mounted within a mop cleaning bucket to receive dirt settling under gravity from the contained liquid with the dirt collecting in, and passing through so as to be trapped below, the filter and its holder. The holder is a rigid or substantially rigid perforated support structure spaced above and below the dirt receiving filter. In one embodiment, the holder is supported in the bucket in spaced relationship to the bottom of the bucket and protects the filter. The filter is a thin, sturdy, semi-rigid and floatable member with many holes so soiled water passes through and collects in the bottom of the bucket. The construction of the filter can be selected depending upon the material (grease sludge, dirt, oil, soot, or food particles) to be mopped up. The combination of the filter and filter holder blocks or dampens turbulence and prevents sediment from being stirred up in the bottom portion of the bucket.

Abstract: A combination mop bucket and wringer unit uses a thin walled plastic mop bucket with a cap-like wringer body which fits securely over the top of the bucket to form a unitary structure. The wringer body adds rigidity to the thin walled mop bucket so that it is able to resist the downward force of the wringer handle lever without buckling. The bucket may be lifted or otherwise moved using only the handle lever. The combination or unitary structure lifting a wringer, a bucket, a mop handle and a mop. Use in small cleaning areas where the combination bucket and wringer is carried from area to area is ideal for this device.

Abstract: A holder for releasibly clamping a mophead to a mop handle includes an elongate clamping member which is hinged at one end and snap fits at the other. The clamping member extends about a mop strand bundle. The clamping member has a brush or scrub pad fitted to its underside for scrubbing.
