    Abstract: An aircraft store ejector systems and subsystems thereof. Embodiments can include a two-reservoir re-pressurization system wherein a remote reservoir is used to maintain desired pressure in a local ejector reservoir. The system can include a release valve having a vent valve and valve piston. The release valve can control release of pressurized gas to a pitch control valve. The pitch control valve can be configured to distribute the pressurized gas between two or more ejector piston assemblies. One or more of the ejector piston assemblies can include multiple concentric piston stages and piston chambers, the piston chambers configured to contain a volume of gas. The ejector piston assemblies can be configured to compress the volume of gas within the piston chambers as the piston stages are extended out from the aircraft. Such compression can provide a return force to the piston stages.

    Abstract: A modular ventilator according to the present disclosure may include a ventilator core and a ventilator service module. The ventilator core provides the basic functionality necessary for delivering suitably oxygenated air to a patient without most or all typical patient monitoring functions except a basic alarm or safety alert triggered by loss of pressure at the output. Additional patient monitoring functions are embodiment in the removable ventilator service module, which may be powered by its own power source and/or by the power source of the ventilator core when coupled thereto. The ventilator core is configured for low cost manufacture and ease of operation and may be portable so as to be easily deployable in a non-hospital setting. The ventilator core may employ a venture-based O2 regulator for adjusting the oxygen-air mixture at the output, which may facilitate the manufacture of the ventilator core at lower cost than conventional ventilators.

    Abstract: A ventilator for ventilating a patient also assists a clinician in determining a suitable PEEP for the patient. For this purpose, a graph or tabular display of a series of different value PEEPs and corresponding functional residual capacities of the patient may be provided. Or, the relationship between lung compliance and a series of different values of PEEP may be provided. Or, the amount of the lung volume recruited/de-recruited at various levels of PEEP may be determined for use in selecting a desired PEEP. To this end, the functional residual capacity of the lungs is determined for a first PEEP level. The PEEP is then altered to a second level and a spirometry dynostatic curve of lung volume and pressure data is obtained. The lung volume on the dynostatic curve at a lung pressure corresponding to the first PEEP value is obtained.
