  • Publication number: 20240006738
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus to control the temperature of an panel of a vehicle, including sensing a vehicle condition, communicating the vehicle condition to a controller, associating the vehicle condition with a temperature control requirement, based on the temperature control requirement, generating a temperature control signal, communicating the temperature control signal to a beam generator; and in association with the control signal generating a beam within a near infrared band of 800 nm to 2000 nm, selected to transmit substantially through a base layer but not an outer layer.

  • Publication number: 20220030671
Abstract: The invention relates to an exterior panel assembly for a vehicle, the assembly comprising a sheet having side edges, a first and second surface opposite of each other, and comprising a thermoplastic material, wherein the sheet is transparent to electromagnetic radiation in at least one of the ranges for radio waves, infrared radiation, visible light and ultraviolet radiation; a heating device comprising an infrared emitter for emitting infrared rays towards the sheet; and a housing structure for accommodating the heating device, wherein the housing structure opens up towards the sheet with an opening, and wherein the sheet extends over the opening of the housing structure. The inventor further relates to a vehicle comprising such an exterior panel assembly.

  • Patent number: 5804654
Abstract: A tetrafluoroethylene-containing powder contains free flowing particles of a tetrafluoroethylene polymer at least partially encapsulated by a polymer or copolymer selected from polystyrene, poly-.alpha.-alkylstyrenes, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymers, .alpha.-alkylstyrene-acrylonitrile copolymers, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers, styrene-butadiene rubbers and their mixtures. The powder is obtained by emulsion polymerization of one or more monomers in the presence of a tetrafluoroethylene polymer and is useful as an additive in polymer compositions and in making molded articles.
