  • Patent number: 4248148
Abstract: A plurality of print hammers are mounted on a horizontally movable carriage and adapted to scan a plurality of column positions of an impact printer. Each print hammer is provided with an energizible electrical coil which moves horizontally with the print hammers in the scan direction. The energizible electric coils on the print hammers cooperate with a fixed magnetic field provided by a pair of fixed bar magnets which extend beyond the distance scanned by the energizible coils on the print hammers.

  • Patent number: 3987886
Abstract: The present arrangement provides a housing means in and upon which are mounted at least the paper advance tractor assemblies including the drive means therefor and the print hammers of the printer. In addition the housing means is formed to have an eccentric shaft pass therethrough which eccentric shaft is formed and disposed to move the housing means toward and away from the type font faces of the printer. The eccentric shaft is engaged in a gear relationship with a drive means that acts to rotate the eccentric shaft which actions imparts linear motion to the housing means assembly.

  • Patent number: 3987723
Abstract: The present device is a rotatable support means on which there is mounted the magnetic read heads of a read station which is employed to sense timing marks on a type font band of a band printer system. The support means is rotatable along the path of the type font band and the rotation thereof is effected by two eccentric members, one of which accomplishes a coarse adjustment and the second of which accomplishes a fine adjustment. The variation of the location of the magnetic read station permits images which are being printed on a record to be laterally moved as between one printed line and the following printed line or lines and this shifting of the images horizontally can be accomplished while the record is being printed.
