  • Publication number: 20170203901
Abstract: An easy open and reclosable package 110 is provided including a package body formed from a flexible film having a heat sealable inner layer, an outer layer, and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed between the inner layer and the outer layer. A transverse end seam 118, 120 with a heat seal region 122, 124 is disposed across a transverse end of the package body and has at least a portion of a patterned die cut formed in the heat sealable inner layer therein, so as to allow a portion of the inner layer to delaminate and expose a portion of the pressure sensitive adhesive in the heat seal region when the transverse end seam is opened to form a substantially full opening in the transverse end of the package body. Flexible films and methods for fabrication of the flexible films and packages also are provided.

  • Patent number: 9650180
Abstract: A recloseable package is provided having a tamper-indicating element. The tamper-indicating element include one or more self-terminating shapes that form one or more chads after opening the recloseable package. Advantageously, the self-terminating shapes provide a simple, visual cue of graphical alignment in the seal to show the customer whether or not a package has been opened.

  • Publication number: 20160251135
Abstract: Recloseable flexible packages are provided including a package body formed from a flexible film having a longitudinal seam along a back panel of the package body, a line of weakness extending around a portion of the package body to define a removable portion of the package body, and a flexible sealing label disposed over and extending beyond the removable potion of the package body. The tine of weakness extends substantially around the package body from the back panel between the longitudinal seam and a first longitudinal side and around to the back panel where it terminates between the second longitudinal side and the longitudinal seam. The recloseable flexible package is opened by pulling the flexible sealing label to form a transverse opening in the package body and then reclosed by wrapping the flexible sealing label back around the package body.
