  • Patent number: 6371175
Abstract: In a filling system for moving a supply of liquid through an automatic nozzle, a filling adaptor affixed to a fill pipe of the container for receiving the automatic nozzle has a safety closure at a discharge end thereof to reduce spillage of liquid from the container upon tipping of the container.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 30, 2000
Date of Patent: April 16, 2002
Inventors: Joseph M. Nusbaumer, Ronald Woods
  • Patent number: 6253803
Abstract: An automated fueling nozzle for transferring fuel from a fuel storage tank to a vehicle fuel storage tank has a vacuum sensing means disposed outboard of a discharge end of an outlet spout of the nozzle to interrupt the flow of fuel when the tank is substantially full to prevent reflux of fuel from the vehicle tank through the inlet conduit of the vehicle tank.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 2000
Date of Patent: July 3, 2001

  • Patent number: 5944069
Abstract: A fueling nozzle having a rotatable locking ring adjacent its discharge end and adapted for mating with and being secured to a fuel receiving tank adapter at a common datum line has a receiving antenna associated with the nozzle and the fuel receiving tank has a transmitting antenna associated therewith. The fueling nozzle is activated by information transmitted as a continuous radio frequency signal from a continuously operating identity transmitter mounted on a vehicle desiring fueling. The identity transmitter is powered by the vehicle power source and requires no special activation by the user. The receiving antenna comprises a circumferential band completely encircling the nozzle and is insulated therefrom and secured thereabout. The receiving antenna is in such close proximity with the transmitting antenna as to interrupt transmission of the information and to cause cessation of a fueling operation upon withdrawal of the fueling nozzle from the fuel tank by more than a maximum functional distance.

  • Patent number: 5918619
Abstract: A safety pressure relief valve assembly is provided wherein the safety pressure relief valve assembly has a first tubular body with a first end and a second end, a wall of given thickness with a bore through the body with an internal flange and a valve support in the bore, a means on the first end of the body for attaching the body to the venting system of a fuel tank, a valve seat in the internal flange, a valve member adapted for resting on the seat and having a stem extending from one side of the valve member, a biasing means for biasing the valve member against the valve seat in a direction toward the first end, a discharge means in the second end having an enclosing flange for the second end, a second tubular body of larger internal diameter than the external diameter of the first tubular body with one of the open ends of the second tubular body affixed to the enclosing flange wherein the enclosing flange and second tubular body comprise means preventing the inclusion of foreign objects from entering the

  • Patent number: 5727608
Abstract: An automated fueling facility comprising a fuel receiving station, at least one fuel storage tank, at least one fuel dispensing station all these components connected by associated transfer piping and a central data collection station having novel secure fueling operation is provided. Each of the components is in electrical communication with the central data collection station through an interface terminal which processes a digital data string of information from vehicles desiring fueling. The interface terminal compares the transmitted information to selected stored information, authorizing properly coded vehicles access to fuel from the fuel dispensing station and ceases fueling operations at the respective fuel dispensing station when the digital data string is interrupted. The fuel dispensing station has a fuel dispensing nozzle adapted for mating with and being secured to a fuel receiving tank at a common datum line.

  • Patent number: 5529304
Abstract: A practice putting range has a runway and an adjacent inclined surface, the runway having a putting runway surface, the putting runway surface in flush abutment with an entrance end to the inclined surface, the entrance end of the inclined surface gently curving upwards towards a raised end of the inclined surface opposed to the entrance end, the raised end having therein an aperature through which a golf ball may drop, a golf ball return chute co-operating with the aperature so as to feed the golf ball dropping through the aperature from beneath the inclined surface onto the runway surface, the chute having a golf ball exit aperture engaging the runway surface and aligned relative to the runway surface so as to direct the golf ball exiting the golf ball exit aperture onto the runway surface to a point on a longitudinal medial line along the runway surface.
