  • Publication number: 20160143661
Abstract: An inner member of an improved assembly for a delivery system includes a first segment formed by a multi-lumen tubing surrounded by a braided tubing, and a second segment formed by a single-lumen tubing that extends within a distal portion of the braided tubing. The single-lumen tubing accommodates an antenna of a medical device, is in fluid communication with three lumens of the multi-lumen tubing, and opens into a flared distal end of the inner member. A distal-most portion of an outer tube of the system contains the flared distal end and an enclosure of the medical device abutting the distal end. A pull wire of the assembly extends within another lumen of the multi-lumen tubing and between the single-lumen tubing and the distal extent of the braided tubing, and is coupled to a pull band mounted in a cone member that forms the flared distal end.

  • Publication number: 20160136577
Abstract: Concentration control in filtration systems and associated methods are generally described. Streams originating from upstream filters and having similar concentrations of a target minor component and/or similar osmotic pressures can be mixed and subsequently filtered within additional filters. Certain embodiments comprise recycling an output stream produced by a filter to a filter feed stream, wherein the output stream and the filter feed stream have similar concentrations of a target minor component and/or similar osmotic pressures. Such strategic mixing and/or recycling can reduce the amount of energy and/or the amount of filtration medium surface area required to achieve a desired concentration of the target minor component in a final product stream.

  • Publication number: 20160136579
Abstract: Filtration systems in which the ratios of minor components in mixtures can be balanced, and associated methods, are generally described. Certain embodiments are related to methods in which a portion of a retentate stream produced by filtering an initial liquid feed during a first filtration step is mixed with the permeate produced by filtering the permeate from the first filtration step. In some cases, the amount of the first retentate that is mixed with the second permeate is selected such that the ratios of the minor components within the final retentate and permeate streams produced by the filtration system are similar to the ratio of the minor components within the initial liquid. By maintaining similar ratios of minor components, according to certain embodiments, the flavor profile of the initial liquid mixture can be substantially maintained in the concentrated and diluted streams produced by the filtration system.

  • Publication number: 20160136578
Abstract: Flow control in multi-step filtration systems and associated methods are generally described. Certain embodiments are related to methods in which a single filter is used to perform multiple, separate filtration steps. In some cases, a diluted permeate from a first filtration step can be recycled back through the filter, as part of a separate filtration step, to produce a second retentate and a second permeate. Subsequent filtration steps can also be performed. Systems configured to perform multiple, separate filtration steps using a single filter are also described.

  • Patent number: 9344343
Abstract: An example method to monitor media exposure involves receiving, at a first internet domain, a first request from a client computer, the first request indicative of access to the media at the client computer. The example method also involves determining if the client computer is known. If the client computer is not known, a response is sent from the first internet domain to the client computer, the response to instruct the client computer to send a second request to a second internet domain, the second request to be indicative of access to the media at the client computer. If the client computer is known, an impression of the media is logged.

  • Publication number: 20160134700
Abstract: An example involves, in response to a first request from a first client device, logging a first impression in association with a first identifier corresponding to media accessed by the first client device that generated the first request, and sending a communication to the first client device. The communication is to cause the first client device to send the first identifier to a database proprietor in association with a cookie identifier of the first client device. Second impressions are logged in response to second requests received from second client devices. The second impressions are associated with the first identifier and correspond to access to the media by the second client devices. A report is generated based on the first impression and corresponding first demographic information from the database proprietor, and based on the second impressions and corresponding second demographic information from an audience measurement entity different from the database proprietor.

  • Publication number: 20160129688
Abstract: A method of ejecting an ink droplet from an inkjet nozzle device having an actuator and a meniscus pinned across a nozzle opening. The method includes the steps of: delivering a sub-ejection pulse to the actuator for perturbing the meniscus from a quiescent state; and subsequently delivering an ejection pulse to the actuator at an instant when the meniscus is perturbed from its quiescent state, the ejection pulse ejecting the ink droplet from the nozzle opening. A time period between a trailing edge of the sub-ejection pulse and a leading edge of the ejection pulse controls a droplet volume of the ejected ink droplet.

  • Patent number: 9335006
Abstract: SSL lamps or luminaires are disclosed that combine blue, yellow (or green) and red photons or emissions to generate light with the desired characteristics. In different embodiments according to the present invention, the blue emission is not provided by an LED chip or package having a blue LED coated with a yellow phosphor, with blue light leaking through the yellow phosphor. Instead, the blue light component can be provided by other types of LED chips in the SSL luminaire such as one having a blue LED covered by a different colored conversion material, with blue light from the blue LED leaking through the different colored conversion material. In one embodiment, the blue component can be provided by an LED chip comprising a blue emitting LED covered by a conversion material that absorbs blue light and re-emits red light, with a portion of the blue light from the LED leaking through the red conversion material.

  • Publication number: 20160126889
Abstract: An apparatus having a substrate with an inductor, a first die and a second die is disclosed. The first die may be (i) mounted on the substrate, (ii) configured to vary a frequency of a signal in the inductor, and (iii) fabricated with multiple first masks. The second die may be (i) mounted on the substrate, (ii) configured to excite the signal, and (iii) fabricated with multiple second masks. A particular one of the first masks generally has several designs that customize the first die to several configurations respectively. A particular one of the second masks may have several designs that customize the second die to several configurations respectively. The first die, the second die and the inductor may form a voltage-controlled oscillator. A selected first design and a selected second design generally establish multiple performances of the voltage-controlled oscillator.
