  • Patent number: 11241244
Abstract: A catheter for removable insertion into a body vasculature has at least one inflatable member. The catheter has at least in part an expandable body that forms an internal axially extending lumen in at least the expanded state of the body. The inflatable member is adjacent a distal axial end of the body and is configured to at least partially obstruct the lumen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 25, 2018
Date of Patent: February 8, 2022
    Assignee: MOR RESEARCH APPLICATIONS LTD.
    Inventors: Ronen Jaffe, Eytan Jaffe

  • Publication number: 20120221092
Abstract: A fastener for attaching a device to a catheter used to mediate a procedure in a patient's body, the fastener dimensioned so that it and the device can be introduced into the patient's body with the catheter and comprising: a clutch controllable to lock the fastener onto and to unlock the fastener from the catheter; and a controller operable to control the clutch selectively to Clock onto and unlock from the catheter when the catheter and fastener are inside a body of a patient.

  • Patent number: 8172757
Abstract: Forward-looking ultrasound transducers are positioned at the tip of a transseptal catheter to facilitate transseptal puncture and interventions within the left atrium, pulmonary veins and mitral valve. Catheter devices and systems are guided by forward-looking ultrasound or optical coherence tomography imaging for penetrating from one location within a mammalian patient's body to another location, and/or performing diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. A penetrator, diagnostic, or interventional device (eg. probe, biopsy apparatus, electrode, needle) is positioned at the catheter tip and is advanceable from the catheter to a target location outside of the lumen in which the catheter is positioned. The imaging probe uses forward-looking ultrasound or optical coherence tomography that allows one to locate both the target and the medical device.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 8, 2012
    Assignee: Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
