Abstract: A liquid fuel composition for a lamp for producing a colored flame is provided comprising: (a) a liquid fuel consisting substantially of ethylene glycol, and (b) a flame coloring agent such as boric acid or a metal compound capable of producing a flame of a determined color. Also provided are an oil lamp comprising at least one chamber containing the liquid fuel composition, with a pouring hole and one or more nozzles, and one or more wicks, each wick placed over the one or more nozzles and extending into the liquid composition; and kits for producing such oil lamps.
