  • Patent number: 7623183
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a video image on a display system comprises a decoder for converting the video image into continuous fields arranged in a first sequence, the continuous fields having a first scan rate different from a second scan rate of the display system, and sending a first signal indicating the first scan rate, a system identifier for sending a second signal indicating the second scan rate, a controller in response to the first signal and the second signal for determining interrupt points for the continuous fields, the interrupt points dividing the continuous fields into odd-numbered sections of fields and even-numbered sections of fields, a buffer for storing the continuous fields, a reorganizing unit for reorganizing one of the odd-numbered or even-numbered sections of fields into reorganized sections of fields, and a multiplexing circuit for selecting the reorganized sections of fields from the reorganizing unit, and selecting the other of the odd-numbered or even-numbered sections of field

  • Patent number: 7495704
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a motion video on a display system includes a decoder for decoding the motion video to provide a decoded picture, the decoded picture having a first frame size and a first scan rate different from a second frame size and a second scan rate of the display system, respectively, a filter for converting the decoded picture into an intermediate picture, and then converting the intermediate picture into a resized frame picture having the second frame size, a memory for storing resized frame pictures sent from the filter, and a controller for controlling output of the resized frame pictures from the memory in a sequence by assigning the resized frame pictures over successive field time intervals in accordance with the ratio between the first scan rate and the second scan rate.

  • Patent number: 6205251
Abstract: A method and device for decompressing a compressed video image and capable of enlarging or contracting the image at the same time. The method utilizes an enhancement/contraction pre-processor to perform enlargement or contraction processing on the compressed data in the vertical direction. Then, at a later stage, an enhancement/contraction post-processor is used to perform enlargement or contraction processing on the decompressed data in the horizontal direction. By dividing the whole video image into a number of rows and dealing with each row sequentially, memory for storing a single row of video data is only required. Therefore, a whole image can be decompressed without using large amount of memory for storing the decompressed data; a large amount of memory is saved.

  • Patent number: 5938774
Abstract: A program repairing apparatus is provided for use on an embedded microprocessor system to repair any faulty program segments that are stored in a permanent data storage unit, such as a mask ROM (read-only memory) incorporated in the embedded microprocessor system. These faulty program segments are repaired by using a number of repair program segments loaded in a reloadable storage unit, such as a RAM (random-access memory) unit that represent the correct versions of the faulty program segments. With this program repairing apparatus, the programs stored in the ROM unit can be repaired without carrying out a mask programming process. In this program repairing apparatus, the starting addresses of the faulty program segments in the ROM unit are registered in a faulty-segment address table and the starting addresses of the repair program segments in the RAM unit are registered in a repair-segment address table.
