  • Patent number: 9497768
Abstract: A method of dynamic adjusting a generation frequency of messages in vehicular networks is provided, including: receiving updating requests and emergent degree of the vehicle event, and then determining whether the generation frequency of messages meets the dynamic change of the vehicle, if not satisfied, selecting a different adjustment method according to the event emergent degree. When the event is emergent, its generation frequency can be raised immediately by an interruptive adjustment and to suppress the generation frequency of messages of the others. Conversely, adjusting its generation frequency by a progressive adjustment and reducing the generation frequency of messages of the other lower-priority vehicles. According to the present disclosure, it prevents lower priority messages from occupying the channel overly, and emergency messages with higher priority can be satisfied immediately when it needed.

  • Patent number: 9425967
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and systems for generating and revoking, as well as validating, certificates used to protect communications within networks while maintaining privacy protection. In the context of a method, certificate generation and revocation with privacy preservation comprises determining a secret value to be used by a certificate authority and an entity; constructing a key tree based on the secret value, wherein the leaves of the key tree represent derived keys for the certificates for the entity; and generating certificates for the entity based in part on the key tree leaves. The method further comprises determining that one or more of the certificates should be revoked; determining a minimum key node set that covers the certificates to be revoked; adding the minimum key node set to a certificate revocation list; and providing the certificate revocation list to one or more entities. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9380611
Abstract: The communication system comprises a base station (BS), a femtocell and a core network. The femtocell deployed within the signal coverage of the BS establishes a first wired connection with an internet service provider (ISP) network and a first wireless connection with a user equipment (UE). The core network establishes a second wired connection with the ISP network and a third wired connection with the BS. The core network is configured to determine that a voice data transmission service is about to be provided to the UE, and transmit a first radio access bearer (RAB) setup request message to the BS to enable the BS to establish a second wireless connection with the femtocell according to the first RAB setup request message so that the UE performs a voice data transmission with the core network via the first wireless connection, the second wireless connection and the third wired connection.

  • Patent number: 8681756
Abstract: An anchor gateway, a communication method and a tangible machine-readable medium are provided. The anchor gateway is for use in a WiMAX network comprising an authentication gateway and a serving base station (BS). After a mobile station (MS) enters the WiMAX network, the anchor gateway will request the authentication gateway and the serving BS according to an identification of the MS to respectively provide authentication key context and medium access control context. Thereby, the network latency, which is made by the MS in handover, will be reduced effectively.

  • Patent number: 8666076
Abstract: A method of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) using the enhanced window-based mutual opposite form (EW-MOF) on scalar multiplication. First, an elliptic curve and a base point on the elliptic curve are selected. Next, essential pre-computed points for a selected window size are calculated. Then, a private key is randomly generated and the mutual opposite form (MOF) is used to convert the private key's binary representation into a signed binary representation. Finally, a public key is calculated by using the enhanced window (EW) method. By greatly reducing the number of essential pre-computed points, the EW-MOF reduces average key generation time (including pre-computation time).

  • Patent number: 8554223
Abstract: A base station, a femtocell, and a handover monitoring method thereof are provided. A wireless network system comprises a server, a mobile device, the base station, and the femtocell. The base station transmits a monitoring signal to the femtocell after it obtains a piece of information corresponding to the mobile device from the server. The femtocell keeps detecting whether a signal is transmitted by the mobile device after it receives the monitoring signal. The femtocell transmits a response signal corresponding to the monitoring signal to the base station after it detects the signal transmitted by the mobile device. The base station transmits a handover signal to the mobile device after it receives the response signal so that the mobile device handovers from the base station to the femtocell. A handover monitoring from the base station to the femtocell for the mobile device is provided by the hand monitoring method.
