    Abstract: This application discloses a satellite network communication method and a related apparatus, and relates the field of communications technologies. The method includes: determining user device address information of a user device, where the user device address information includes a second sub-area identifier EID and a user device identifier UDID of the user device, the second EID is used to indicate a second sub-area in which the user device is currently located, and the second sub-area is one of a plurality of sub-areas divided from the earth surface; and sending, by the user device, the user device address information to a first satellite. The identifier of the sub-area in which the user device is located is included in the user device address information. This can adapt to a high-speed mobility feature of a satellite on a satellite network and improve communication efficiency of the satellite network.

A user terminal receives, on a management channel, a sounding signal sent by a management satellite. The management satellite manages one or more serving satellites. The user terminal sends a respiratory signal to the management satellite. The respiratory signal carries information about the user terminal. The information about the user terminal is used to determine information about a serving satellite that serves the user terminal. The management satellite or a ground station may uniformly schedule the serving satellite to serve the user terminal. When the serving satellite is switched, a negotiation between satellites may be omitted.

    Abstract: An LDPC code encoding and modulation method and a communications apparatus are provided to resolve a problem of poor transmission performance and low transmission reliability that are caused in an existing modulation method. Under the method, an information bit sequence Sb can be obtained. The Sb can be encoded by using a LDPC matrix H to generate an encoded code sequence Sc. The Sc can be modulated to obtain a modulated symbol sequence SM. This modulation may include mapping bits in a least reliable code block in the Sc to non-least reliable bit locations for constellation modulation. SM can be sent to a receive end. In this way, reliability of all symbols in the SM is relatively high and uniform. A bit error rate can be effectively reduced, so that encoding performance is improved and more reliable transmission is implemented.

The present invention can address a prior-art disadvantage that decoding is rather complex because of a fixed survivor path quantity L for polar code decoding.

    Abstract: This application provides encoding and decoding methods to reduce retransmission in satellite communication. A sending apparatus obtains an information transport block, where the information transport block includes a plurality of code blocks; and generates a redundant code block based on at least two of the plurality of code blocks. The at least two code blocks and the redundant code block are sent over a satellite channel after channel coding. A receiving apparatus receives the to-be-decoded information over the satellite channel, calculates, based on the to-be-decoded information of the at least two code blocks and the redundant code block, an a priori log-likelihood ratio of a to-be-decoded bit, and combines the a priori log-likelihood ratio and a log-likelihood ratio obtained after demodulation, to obtain a diversity gain. Decoding is performed based on the combined log-likelihood ratio. This method improves decoding accuracy and reduces the need for retransmission.
