    Abstract: A portable basketball goal assembly and the height adjustment mechanism used within that assembly. The portable basketball goal assembly has a base and a pole that extends vertically from the base. The pole supports at least one support arm that is pivotably connected to the pole. A backboard and hoop are connected to the first end of each support arm. The backboard and hoop are adjusted in height using an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism has a telescoping body that is connected between the second end of each support arm and the pole. The telescoping body is capable of being selectively adjusted within a range of lengths. By adjusting the length of the telescoping body, each support arm is caused to pivot about its connection to the pole to different degrees. This causes the backboard and hoop to selectively raise and lower.

    Abstract: A portable basketball goal assembly that has a backboard and rim. The backboard can be adjusted to a vertical position even if the assembly is set on a sloped surface. The backboard is supported at an elevation by a pole and linkages. The linkages engage brackets that are affixed to the backboard. A manual adjustment is provided that selectively moves the point where at least one of the linkages connects to the bracket. This changes the angle of inclination of the bracket. Since the backboard is affixed to the brackets, the angle of inclination also changes. This enables the backboard to be adjusted to a vertical orientation when the pole is slanted away from vertical due to uneven ground.

    Abstract: A system and method for attaching a rebound mat to a peripheral frame using elastic loops. Each of the elastic loops has a first section and a second section that can be stretched in opposite directions. A loop connector is used to interconnect the two stretched loop sections. The loop connector has a first pulley wheel, a second pulley wheel, and a gap space. The first section of the elastic loop is extended through or around a feature of the peripheral frame. The second section is extended through or around a feature of the rebound mat. Once engaged with the loop connector, the first section of the elastic loop rests upon the first pulley wheel and the second section of the elastic loop rests upon the second pulley wheel. As the elastic loop stretches and contracts, the elastic loop rotates the pulley wheels, therein limiting the wear.

    Abstract: A system that includes a portable basketball goal assembly and a rebound assembly that can be used together as a single piece of equipment or split and used as separate pieces of equipment. The rebound assembly has a rebound frame that is supported on a base frame. The angle of inclination of the rebound frame relative to the base frame can be selectively adjusted. The rebound frame defines a first central opening. The base frame defines a second central opening. A flexible rebound surface spans the first central opening. The rebound assembly selectively connects to, and detaches from, the portable basketball goal assembly. When the rebound assembly is attached to the portable goal assembly, the rebound surface redirects basketballs that fall through the net. When the rebound assembly is detached from the portable basketball goal assembly, the rebound assembly is free standing.

    Abstract: A globe assembly and method of manufacturing a raised relief globe including laminating the at least two plastic layer sheets as the printing sheet. The plastic sheet has the longitude and transverse. Both the two layers can have the same longitudinal strength and transverse strength. When laminating, maintain the longitude of first layer same direction as the transverse of second layer, so the transverse of the first layer has the same direction as the longitude of the second layer. A map design is then printed on the flat laminating plastic sheet. The plastic sheet is formed into a substantially hemispherical shape. A mold core is positioned on the back side of the sheet. A styrene backing is molded onto the hemispherical shaped sheet. A second molded hemisphere is produced in the substantially the same manner. The two hemispheres are then assembled as the raised relief globe.
