  • Patent number: 6444400
Abstract: A method of making an electroconductive pattern on a support is disclosed. The support is provided with a polymer layer containing a polythiophene, a polyanion and a di- or polyhydroxy organic compound. Said layer is characterized by an initial surface resistivity (SRi) having a value which is higher than 104 &OHgr;/□, or more preferably higher than 106 &OHgr;/□. By heating selected areas of the polymer layer, the surface resistivity of these areas is reduced to SRi/&Dgr; wherein &Dgr; is at least 10, preferably at least 103 and more preferable at least 105. The electroconductive pattern thus obtained can be used as an electronic circuit for making an electric or semiconductor device such as a printed circuit board, an integrated circuit, a display, an electroluminescent device or a photovoltaic cell.

  • Patent number: 6383692
Abstract: A material is disclosed which is suitable for making a flexographic printing plate and comprises in the order given a base, a photopolymer layer and a photothermographic or thermographic recording layer which contains an organic silver salt. By image-wise exposing the recording layer, a photomask is obtained through which the photopolymer layer can be subsequently exposed. Using a suitable solvent, the (photo)thermographic recording layer can be removed and the unexposed areas of the photopolymer layer can be washed out simultaneously in a single development step. The relief image thus obtained can be used as a print master for flexographic printing.

  • Patent number: 6358668
Abstract: A material is disclosed which is suitable for making a flexographic printing plate and comprises in the order given a base, a photopolymer layer, a barrier layer wherein the main component is a polymer different from gelatin, and an ink receiving layer wherein the main component is gelatin. An image having a high optical density can be printed on the ink receiving layer by image-wise jetting a water-based ink because the gelatin in the ink receiving layer has excellent ink receptivity and because the barrier layer reduces diffusion of monomers from the photopolymer layer to the ink receiving layer. The image present in or on the ink receiving layer can then be used as a photomask for the subsequent flood exposure of the photopolymer layer. After processing, a flexographic printing plate is obtained.
