  • Patent number: 7000920
Abstract: A memory engagement game is based on Montessori educational principles and employs elements of a trivia game and a bingo game. The game includes a game board having a plurality of openings, a movable cover associated with each opening, a plurality of game cards that can be inserted into the game board, and a plurality of calling cards. Each calling card displays a question, and each game card displays answers to each question. When a game card is inserted into the game board, the answers are in register with the openings. The player can move any given cover to mask the answer displayed in the associated opening. During play, the questions are read aloud and players cover the openings that display the correct answers. Play continues until one or more players covers all of the openings on his game board. The game improves the players' memories while permitting the players to socialize in a non-competitive environment.

  • Patent number: 6889998
Abstract: A foldable utility cart (10) includes a pair of spaced, parallel frame members (22). A collar (50) is disposed about each of the frame members (22) and is slidable therealong. A pair of front legs (40) and a pair of rear legs (46) are pivotally connected to the collars (50). The front and rear legs (40, 46) each support a wheel (44, 48). The collars (50) can be moved from a raised position where the legs (40, 46) and wheels (44, 48) are folded adjacent each other, to a lowered position where the legs (40, 46) and wheels (44, 48) are extended to support the cart (10) for movement on the ground. The cart (10) includes a moveable basket carrier assembly (18). The basket carrier assembly (18) includes toothed racks (110) that are connected to channel members (24) for movement therealong. A ratchet clutch (136) is used to permit up or down movement of the racks (110) and to maintain the racks (110) at any desired vertical position.

  • Patent number: 6890180
Abstract: A phonetic transliteration card display includes a display board to which a plurality of display cards can be secured removably. The card display enables a person who speaks a first language, but not a second language, to speak simple phrases in the second language and be understood by a listener who speaks only the second language. This result is accomplished by displaying a source phrase in the first language on each display card, along with a target phrase that constitutes a translation of the source phrase in the second language. A phonetic transliteration of the target phrase is displayed in the first language. When the phonetic transliteration is read aloud by the speaker, the listener will hear, and therefore understand, the target phrase. The cards can be color-coded by subject matter, if desired. The display board contains a chamber that permits a number of display cards to be stored. The display board is constructed such that a number of similar boards can be connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 6176498
Abstract: A manually-operated utility cart for carrying a removable basket. The cart has a basket support adapted to move in a vertical path to raise and lower the removable basket between desired vertical positions. The basket support is moved by means of a gear mechanism that includes generally vertical racks attached to the basket support and pinions that engage the racks and which are mounted on a horizontal shaft supported on an upright frame. The gear mechanism is manually operated by the operator using a crank arm or other similar mechanism. The basket is provided with a door on one side that can be pivoted downwardly for better access to the contents of the basket.
