Abstract: In one illustrative example, a network cybersecurity procedure may be employed with use of at least one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), where the UAV includes an intermediary pairing device for providing a temporary connection between a first network (e.g. a private LAN) and a second network (e.g. the Internet). The network cybersecurity procedure may involve deploying the UAV in proximity to the first network, such that the intermediary pairing device pairs with a first pairing device via a first transceiver and with a second pairing device via a second transceiver. A temporary connection is established between the first network connected via the first pairing device and the second network connected via the second pairing device. Data is communicated between a first device (e.g. IoT device) or server of the first network and a second device or server of the second network over the temporary connection. During this time, the intermediary pairing device executes a cybersecurity service function.

Abstract: Displaying a graphical user interface on a second-screen device. The graphical user interface can include a partial video stream displayed in a video display area on a touchscreen of the second-screen device and a contextual panel in an active display area on the touchscreen. The contextual panel can include content associated with the partial video stream. The displayed partial video stream can be associated with a video stream displayed by a primary display with the two displayed video streams being associated with the same content and substantially synchronized.

Abstract: Techniques in an information-centric network (ICN) for facilitating the transport of passengers or items are described. In one illustrative example, a first mobile device is configured to operate as a mobile transportation-offering ICN endpoint device. The first mobile device may connect to one of a plurality of fixed-location ICN nodes in the ICN network. The first mobile device may communicate in the ICN network one or more interest packet messages indicating an interest in a passenger or item to transport. The interest in a passenger or item to transport may be indicated in, for example, a Named Data Object (NDO). The one or more interest packet messages may include current transportation route information indicating a current anticipated route of transportation for a current passenger or item.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for selecting video channels is implemented on a computing device and includes: presenting at least one set of detected facial images, detecting user selection of a selected set of detected facial images, where each of the at least one set is associated with one of the video channels; and sending a video channel switching command to a video channel playing device, where the video channel switching command indicates a switch to the video channel associated with the selected set of detected facial images.

Abstract: A set top box can provide coordinated graphical user interfaces on a plurality of devices. The set top box can output first media content to a primary display (a television) and can output second media content to a second-screen device (a tablet). The primary display can display a video stream associated with the first media content. The second-screen device can display a video stream associated with the second media content. The video stream of the second media content can be displayed in a video display area on the second-screen device. The outputted video streams can be associated with the same content and can be substantially synchronized. The second application can receive user gestures on a touchscreen of the second-screen device to control the video stream displayed on the primary display. As a result, the second-screen device acts as a bridge to affect the displayed video stream on the primary display.
