  • Publication number: 20200337604
Abstract: A method for noninvasive analysis of subcutaneous tissue includes irradiating a surface of the tissue with short wave infrared (SWIR) radiation in a first spectral band that is strongly absorbed by water, and with SWIR radiation in a second spectral band such that an interaction of the radiation in both spectral bands with a component of the tissue other than water is substantially identical. An intensity of the radiation in each of the spectral bands that emerges from the tissue is measured. A relative absorption by the tissue of radiation in one of spectral bands relative to absorption by the tissue of radiation in the other of the spectral bands is calculated. A state of the tissue is determined in accordance with the calculated relative absorption.

  • Publication number: 20160096010
Abstract: An applicator device for applying a fluid substance within a body cavity includes an applicator body for insertion into the body cavity. A chamber within the applicator body holds the fluid substance. A plunger applies pressure to the fluid substance in the chamber when pushed into the chamber, and creates suction when withdrawn. Lateral openings are each provided with one-way valves that enable outflow of the fluid substance through the opening from the chamber to an outer surface of the applicator when the pressure is applied by the plunger, and inhibit inflow of a fluid through the opening from outside the applicator into the chamber when the suction is created by the plunger. A stopping structure inhibits pushing motion at a stop position, enables motion past the stop position when an additional pushing force is applied, and enables withdrawal through the stop position without interference.

  • Publication number: 20040059186
Abstract: A slow-release insemination device is disclosed, which enables in-vivo, real time sperm improvement. The present invention may minimize loss of sperm by slow-release of fluid. The sperm may be injected directly into the uterus of a female, avoiding the cervical hostile environment. The female may be free to ambulate within, for example, 2-6 hours of injection, minimizing discomfort.
