Publication number: 20230130480Abstract: Disclosed is a device for medical imaging, such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging. The device includes a printed circuit board and an enclosure configured to disperse heat generated by the printed circuit board. The enclosure comprises a first heat spreader coupled to and in thermal contact with the printed circuit board, a second heat spreader in thermal contact with the first heat spreader at an interface such that the heat is distributed between the first heat spreader and the second heat spreader across the interface, a first cover portion coupled to and in thermal contact with the first heat spreader; and a second cover portion coupled to and in thermal contact with the second heat spreader, wherein the first cover portion is coupled to the second cover portion to form the enclosure.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2021Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventors: Roopesh EDAVANA, Rob Wilhelmus VAN GILS

Patent number: 9801770Abstract: A method and system tilts an infant-care medical device. In one example, the method and system pivots the infant-care device about the tilt axis by releasing a tilt platform of the infant-care medical device using an actuator to allow the tilt platform to pivot about the tilt axis. The method and system also selectively adjusts a rotational position of the tilt platform relative to a tilt axis. As the tilt platform pivots about the tilt axis, the system and method dampens pivoting of tilt platform using a damper. As so dampened, the pivoting of the tilt platform is counter-balanced such that vibration and/or movements that may be felt by an infant within the infant-care medical device may be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2013Date of Patent: October 31, 2017Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Roopesh Edavana, Lakshmikantha Krishnamurthy Shirahatti

Patent number: 9777521Abstract: An enhanced hinge and method pivotally and removably connects a member from a structure. In one example, the hinge and method retains the member using a first hinge piece coupled to the structure and a second hinge piece coupled to the member. The first and second hinge pieces may be configured such that the second hinge piece is retained inside the first hinge piece in a closed position and is not free to be decoupled from the first hinge piece but is free to pivot to an open position at the closed position. At the open position the second hinge piece is inverted as compared to its position in the closed position, is free to pass through the first hinge piece and is free to be decoupled from the first hinge piece.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2013Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Roopesh Edavana, Pavanlal Thampy

Patent number: 9333140Abstract: An improved bed apparatus (4) includes a bed (12) and a movable heater assembly (16). The bed (72) is movably disposed on a support (8), and the heater assembly (76) is movable to enable alignment between the bed (72) and the heater assembly (76) to promote uniformity of irradiance on a patient situated on the bed (72). In an embodiment, the bed (72) and heater assembly (76) are movable together to maintain alignment between the bed (72) and the heater assembly (76). In another embodiment, the bed (72) and the heater assembly (76) are independent, but one or more indicators (244, 254) are provided to enable manual alignment between the bed (72) and the heater assembly (76).Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2012Date of Patent: May 10, 2016Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Sanjay Bharadwaj, Roopesh Edavana, Samik Das

Patent number: 9278039Abstract: An improved incubator assembly includes a number of movable walls and a circulation system having a fluid guide apparatus adjacent each movable wall. The fluid guide apparatuses generate a first jet of air in a direction generally parallel with a wall in the closed position and a second jet of air in a direction oblique to the wall in the closed position. Whenever one of the movable walls is moved from its closed position to its open position, the jet of air that had been flowing parallel with such wall continues to flow and forms an air curtain.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2011Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Sanjay Bharadwaj, Thejasvi Mysore Sathyasundara, Roopesh Edavana

Patent number: 8038159Abstract: A transport cart for attaching to a patient care apparatus having a locking system that converts the forward caster of the transport cart from an omni-directional pivotable caster to a fixed directional device by restraining its pivoting about a vertical axis. The forward caster is located at about the center of the footprint of the combined transport cart/patient care apparatus and the fixed directional movement of the forward caster provides stability in moving the combined apparatus. The locking mechanism may be internal to the caster or may have a pair of pivotable lock arms that contact the patient care apparatus as the two are brought together and the pivotable lock arms pivot to a locked position where they sandwich the caster therebetween to restrain its ability to pivot. The locking mechanism automatically or manually releases the forward caster to again freely pivot when the transport cart/patient care apparatus are separated.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2011Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Steven M. Falk, Roopesh Edavana
