    Abstract: The invention discloses a controller for a vapor compression system for cooling a refrigerated space. The system comprises a circuit for circulation of a refrigerant between a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator. An expansion valve controls a flow of the refrigerant into the evaporator and thereby cooling of the refrigerated space. The control system is adapted to control the expansion valve based on a first temperature in the circuit between the evaporator and the compressor and a second temperature determined in the refrigerated space.

For this it is provided that for the supervision of the first media flow moving through the heat exchanger a change in the enthalpy of the second media stream or a value derived therefrom is determined.
