  • Patent number: 6537952
Abstract: A foaming cleansing product is provided as a cleansing composition packaged in a non-aerosol pump dispenser. The dispenser includes a container for holding a liquid composition, a dispensing head with a housing enclosing a pump mechanism and a screen material in the flow path to convert liquid composition into a foam. The cleansing composition comprises an anionic surfactant, and at least one surfactant selected from a nonionic and an amphoteric surfactant, a cationic polymer, and a hydrophobic antibacterial agent, and contains less than 0.05 wt. % of a water insoluble emollient; said composition being dispensed by the pump dispenser to provide a foam. The total amount of surfactants in the inventive composition does not exceed 12 wt. %, and preferably does not exceed 10.5 wt. %.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2001
Date of Patent: March 25, 2003
Assignee: Unilever Home and Personal Care, USA division of Conopco, Inc.
    Inventors: Christine Hayward, Rosa Paredes
  • Patent number: 6534456
Abstract: The invention relates to a plurality of liquid cleansing compositions having at least one lamellar phase which possesses a lotion-like appearance conveying signals of enhanced moisturization and at least one abutting isotropic phase having enhanced cleansing ability. The inventive composition is contained in a partitionless container in one embodiment conveying signals of a plurality of compositions. This multiphase composition is stable upon storage and is dispensed as a striped product where typically one stripe has primarily a cleansing function and a second stripe has primarily a moisturization function.

  • Patent number: 6533873
Abstract: A shower gel formulation having a clear appearance is described which suspends insoluble particles, water insoluble liquids or bubbles and contains an acrylate copolymer, an anionic surfactant, a cationic polymer and, optionally, an amphoteric surfactant. The method of use of the clear shower gel is also described.

  • Publication number: 20020136700
Abstract: A vehicle, and a fragrance concentrate are described for providing a customized, personal care product to a consumer at a location, typically the point of sale, that is remote from a second location in which a personal care product base composition is prepared. The custom personal care product typically includes a product base, a fragrance concentrate, and one or more performance agent concentrates that may contain benefit agents, botanical extracts, active ingredients for skin and hair, and the like. The inventive vehicle is substituted to the extent that an insufficient amount of performance agents are selected by the consumer to obtain optimum, final product, component concentrations.

  • Publication number: 20020131985
Abstract: A system is described for providing a customized, personal care product to a consumer at a location, typically the point of sale, that is remote from a second location in which a personal care product base composition is prepared. A selection of performance agents of different classes with a common vehicle is made available to the consumer for custom formulation of a personal care product with the desired attributes. The system typically includes a product base, a fragrance part, and one or more performance agent parts that may contain benefit agents, botanical extracts, active ingredients for skin and hair, and the like. A blank vehicle is substituted if insufficient performance agents are selected.
