  • Patent number: 11430561
Abstract: Remote computing analysis for cognitive state data metrics is performed. Cognitive state data from a plurality of people is collected as they interact with a rendering. The cognitive state data includes video facial data collected on one or more local devices from the plurality of people. Information is uploaded to a remote server. The information includes the cognitive state data. A facial expression metric based on a plurality of image classifiers is calculated for each individual within the plurality of people. Cognitive state information is generated for each individual, based on the facial expression metric for each individual. The cognitive state information for each individual within the plurality of people who interacted with the rendering is aggregated. The aggregation is based on the facial expression metric for each individual. The cognitive state information that was aggregated is displayed on at least one of the one or more local devices.

  • Patent number: 10843078
Abstract: Mental state data is collected as a person interacts with a game played on a machine. The mental state data includes facial data, where the facial data includes facial regions or facial landmarks. The mental state data can include physiological data and actigraphy data. The mental state data is analyzed to produce mental state information. Mental state data and/or mental state information can be shared across a social network or a gaming community. The affect of the person interacting with the game can be represented to the social network or gaming community in the form of an avatar. Recommendations based on the affect resulting from the analysis can be made to the person interacting with the game. Mental states are analyzed locally or via a web services. Based on the results of the analysis, the game with which the person is interacting is modified.

  • Publication number: 20200342979
Abstract: Distributed analysis for cognitive state metrics is performed. Data for an individual is captured into a computing device. The data provides information for evaluating a cognitive state of the individual. The data for the individual is uploaded to a web server. A cognitive state metric for the individual is calculated. The cognitive state metric is based on the data that was uploaded. Analysis from the web server is received by the computing device. The analysis is based on the data for the individual and the cognitive state metric for the individual. An output that describes a cognitive state of the individual is rendered at the computing device. The output is based on the analysis that was received. The cognitive states of other individuals are correlated to the cognitive state of the individual. Other sources of information are aggregated. • Publication number: 20150018707
Abstract: A method for accurate pain analysis using a combination of electrodermal data and self-report information is described. To obtain pain measurements, electrodermal activity is collected and analyzed. One or more biosensors obtain electrodermal data from a person. The electrodermal data is filtered to produce skin conductance values. The skin conductance values are associated with self-report pain information from a person over multiple time regions. The associating allows electrodermal activity to be related to self-reported pain (SRP) data to derive an objective pain measurement.

  • Publication number: 20140081090
Abstract: Computer-implemented techniques are disclosed for analyzing physiology data captured by biosensors and for providing alerts based on the biosensor data. The biosensor data is captured non-invasively and is analyzed to identify atypical brain activity that can result from illness, injury, disease, and seizures. The biosensor data can include electrodermal activity, skin temperature, and accelerometer data. The data is sent to a web service for analysis, and to determine whether an alert should be generated. The alerts, based on the biosensor data captured from the individual, are received from the web service. An output related to physiology is rendered based on an alert being received from the web service.

  • Publication number: 20130245396
Abstract: Mental state analysis may be performed using a wearable-camera device. Embodiments provide a glasses mounted camera or an ear-mounted device comprising a camera to collect mental state data of an individual being viewed. Information about the mental states of the individual being viewed can be fed back to the individual wearing the wearable-camera device via visual, verbal, or tonal indicators. Various emotional indicators can be provided to the wearer of the device. Analysis of the mental state data of the person being observed can be performed on the wearable-camera device, on a mobile platform, on a server, or a combination thereof. Shared and aggregated mental state information may be shared via social networking. A geographical representation of the mental state information may be rendered.

  • Patent number: 8396530
Abstract: A biosensor is described which can obtain physiological data from an individual. The biosensor may collect electrodermal activity, skin temperature, and other information. The biosensor may be attached to the body through the use of a garment which may be fastened in multiple locations on the human body. The biosensor includes compensation for electrodermal activity measurements based on the amount of pressure applied to the electrodes that are in contact with the skin. As pressure is increased the electrodermal activity values typically increase. By compensating for the influence that pressure changes have on electrodermal activity, more accurate analysis of physiology and therefore mental state analysis may be performed.

  • Publication number: 20120243751
Abstract: Facial information is collected on a person and used to analyze affect. Facial information can be used to determine a baseline face which characterizes the default expression that a person has on their face. Deviations from this baseline face can be used to evaluate affect and further be used to infer mental states. Facial images can be automatically scored for various expressions including smiles, frowns, and squints. Image descriptors and image classifiers can be used during this baseline face analysis.
