  • Patent number: 11111972
Abstract: A method for controlling an actuator includes providing the actuator with a control unit, a drive unit including an electric motor with a stator and a rotor, a rotor position sensor, connected to the control unit, for detecting a rotation of the rotor, and a displacer unit, drivable by the rotation of the rotor, for displacing a fluid. The displacer unit includes a geometric displacement volume per revolution of the rotor. The method also includes generating a predetermined pressure at the displacer unit by applying an electrical driving power to the electric motor, maintaining the predetermined pressure over a predetermined time interval, determining the rotation of the rotor with the rotor position sensor during the predetermined time interval, and determining a leakage volume flow.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve for a hydraulic system for controlling a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission. The valve includes an orifice having an opening to admit a stream of a hydraulic medium, and a valve cone to block the opening in the orifice. A spring is carried by the valve cone to apply a restoring force to press the valve cone against the orifice in sealing contact with the opening. A hydraulic plate having a valve bore is provided to receive and guide the valve cone and the spring. • Patent number: 9038492
Abstract: A hydraulic arrangement by which a plurality of shift rails of a transmission are actuated, including one double acting cylinder per shift rail by which the respective shift rail can be moved back and forth. A first hydraulic valve is connected upstream of the plurality of shift rails and has a first output and a second output, by which a first shift pressure and a second shift pressure for actuating the shift rails can be provided. A second hydraulic valve is connected between the first hydraulic valve and two of the shift rails, and by which it is selectively possible for the first output of the first hydraulic valve to be associated with one of the double acting cylinders of the two shift rails, and the second output of the first hydraulic valve to be associated with the other double acting cylinder of the two shift rails.

  • Patent number: 8734277
Abstract: A hydraulic system for actuating at least two valves, particularly for actuating a conical-pulley continuously variable transmission of a motor vehicle having a continuously variable transmission ratio (CVT), and with a control valve that controls at least two control valves by controlling total control pressure. Between the control valve and a first valve of at least two valves a cutoff valve is connected, through which the total control pressure provided above a switching threshold can be reduced to minimum control pressure acting at least on the first valve or to zero by means of the control valve.

  • Patent number: 8353805
Abstract: A hydraulic supply system for a hydraulically actuated automatic transmission, in particular for a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission. The system includes a primary pump driven by a primary drive system to provide pressure in a supply line connected to a regulating valve. The supply line is connected through a pilot valve to a control line in which a control valve is situated, with which the pressure that determines the setting of a transmission ratio adjusting valve is set. An auxiliary pump driven by an auxiliary drive system that is separate from the primary drive system includes an outlet line connected to the control line through a first valve that opens in the direction of the control line, and is connected to the supply line through a second valve that opens in the direction of the supply line.

  • Patent number: 8196401
Abstract: A hydraulic system for controlling a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission. A pump draws a working medium from a working medium tank or through a cooler return valve from a cooler return line. The cooler return valve is a minimum pressure valve that holds closed a connection between the cooler return line and a pump inlet line through the cooler return valve, as long as the pressure in the cooler return line remains below a specified minimum pressure. The cooler return valve also opens the connection between the cooler return line and the pump inlet line through the cooler return valve as soon as the specified minimum pressure in the cooler return line is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 8141355
Abstract: A hydraulic system for an automatic transmission operatively connected to an internal combustion engine that is operable in a start-stop mode. The hydraulic system includes a hydraulic energy source to supply the hydraulic system with hydraulic energy, the hydraulic energy source including at least one electrically driven hydraulic pump to supply the hydraulic system with hydraulic energy during a stopping phase of the internal combustion engine. To achieve a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, provision is included to enable the electrically driven hydraulic pump to be switched on in addition to a mechanically driven hydraulic pump, as needed during an operating phase of the internal combustion engine.
