  • Publication number: 20210213206
Abstract: A detent mechanism for controlling translation between two components in a longitudinal direction includes a resilient beam on one of the components and a rhomboid ramp member on the other component. The resilient beam is essentially straight when relaxed and has a first beam head and is arranged to interact in a ramped engagement with respectively one of two ramps. Each ramp is on one longitudinal side of the rhomboid ramp member such that application of a translative force between the components in one longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to one of the ramps in a first state deflects the resilient beam in one transversal direction and such that application of a translative force between the components in the other longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to the other one of the ramps deflects the resilient beam in the other transversal direction.

  • Publication number: 20200261661
Abstract: Described is an autoinjector comprising a case, a chassis slidably arranged in the case, a syringe carrier operably coupled to the chassis, an outer plunger selectively engaged to the chassis, an inner plunger selectively engaged to the outer plunger, and a drive spring applying a biasing force to the outer plunger. The biasing force is applied to the inner plunger when the inner plunger is engaged to the outer plunger. Rotation of the chassis causes the inner plunger to rotate relative to the outer plunger and disengage the outer plunger to remove the biasing force from the drive spring on the inner plunger. When the inner plunger disengages the outer plunger, the biasing force of the drive spring pushes the chassis to retract the syringe carrier relative to the case.

  • Patent number: 10518041
Abstract: An Injection device for administering a dose of liquid medicament to patient comprises—a syringe containing the dose of medicament—a hollow injection needle adapted to penetrate skin of the patient,—a stopper translatably disposed within syringe,—a plunger connectable to stopper and translatable in at least a proximal direction to displace stopper in the proximal direction and—a releasable noise component capable of, upon release, generating an audible and/or tactile feedback. The proximal displacement of stopper causes the dose of the medicament to be expelled through the hollow injection needle. The noise component is released when the plunger reaches a position relative to the syringe in which stopper is located in proximity of a proximal end of the syringe. The released noise component impacts on at least one component of the injection device to generate the audible and/or tactile feedback indicating the end of the injection.

  • Patent number: 10471210
Abstract: An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes a case and a carrier subassembly with a carrier slidably arranged inside the case. The carrier can contain a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding drive spring load to a syringe stopper. The syringe can jointly, axially translate with the carrier. The drive spring acts between the carrier and the plunger. In an initial state, the plunger is locked to the carrier by a ramped engagement to the carrier and is prevented from rotating out of this engagement depending on a longitudinal position of the carrier in the case. The plunger can be released for rotating out of the ramped engagement when the needle reaches nearly a predefined injection depth on translation of the carrier in the proximal direction for advancing the needle beyond a proximal end of the auto-injector.

  • Patent number: 10413668
Abstract: An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes an elongate case arranged to be held by a user, a tubular chassis telescopable in the case and biased against the case so as to protrude from the case, a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding load of the drive spring to a stopper of the syringe, and a trigger button which is initially abutted against the case thus preventing actuation. The chassis is arranged to translate into the case against the bias when pressed against an injection site. The trigger button is initially coupled to the chassis such that the trigger button emerges from the case when the chassis is being pressed against the injection site to allow actuation by being translated towards the case for starting an injection cycle.
