Patent number: 10948551Abstract: A fault monitoring system detects connectivity faults in a device control centre. The fault monitoring system includes, for the or each control section, at least a first pair of temperature sensors adapted to detect the temperature of a first pair of terminals (TL1-IN), (TL1-OUT). The system includes a processor configured to receive the detected temperatures, calculate an IN-OUT difference, the IN-OUT difference being a difference between the temperatures of the first pair of terminals (?TL1), compare the calculated IN-OUT difference with a predetermined threshold value (?T*L1), whereby a calculated difference IN-OUT (?TL1), greater than the predetermined threshold value (?T*L1), is indicative of a connectivity fault at one of the first pair of terminals, and to generate at least one output signal based on the results of the comparison.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2017Date of Patent: March 16, 2021Assignee: QHi Group LimitedInventors: Daniel Thomas, Ross Kennedy, John Hope

Patent number: 9733285Abstract: A load calculation device for determining the maximum electrical load that can be applied to an electrical circuit includes determines the temperature differential (?T) between a section of the electrical circuit and the ambient air temperature in which the section of the electrical circuit resides. The actual electrical load applied to the electrical circuit is also determined as is the design load of the electrical circuit. The maximum electrical load that can be applied to the electrical circuit is then determined based on the temperature differential and the electrical load applied to the electrical circuit and the circuit designed load. The load calculation device may be applied to an electrical joint and may be used to calculate the maximum temperature differential allowed for a given current to be applied at the electrical joint. This is particularly beneficial in connection with detecting and preventing electrical joint failure.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2012Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: QHI Group Inc.Inventors: Ross Kennedy, John Hope

Publication number: 20150170216Abstract: Things are distributed through a personalized network of trusted parties specified by a member. A specific implementation of the invention is for distributing unused tickets, but the principles of the invention are applicable to other things besides tickets. A system of the invention drives or increases attendance by enabling consumers to push their seats (i.e., unused tickets) to members of a trusted network (created by the consumer themselves) rather than making the seats available for sale to the public or manually locating an interested party and transferring them. Additionally, the system performs the time consuming work of contacting members of the trusted network to find out if they are interested in using the tickets for a particular event while receiving and recording their responses.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2011Publication date: June 18, 2015Applicant: SEATSUB, INC.Inventors: Franco Cirelli, Ross Kennedy, Scott Tachiki

Publication number: 20110280281Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the temperature of a host electrical cable, comprising a sensor; the sensor comprising a first temperature sensing element which communicates readings representative of the temperature of the host electrical cable to a data acquisition device, and a the second temperature sensing element which communicates readings representative of ambient air temperature to a data acquisition device which translates the readings of the temperature sensing elements into a value of the rise of the temperature of the host electrical cable over the ambient air temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2011Publication date: November 17, 2011Applicant: QHi Group LimitedInventor: Ross Kennedy
