  • Publication number: 20070001041
Abstract: A heavy-duty demolition apparatus for attachment to the boom structure of an excavator, the apparatus having interchangeable jaw sets. The apparatus includes a unitary jaw assembly, having a pair of pivoting jaws connected by a main pivot pin; a first adaptor on the boom structure; a second adaptor on the jaw assembly, the second adaptor engaging the first adaptor, so that the jaw assembly can be easily removed as a unit from the boom structure and another jaw assembly installed on the boom structure; and a lock pin fixed to the first adapter and engaging the second adapter to maintain the jaw assembly in locked relationship to the boom structure. Because of the structure of the apparatus, the distance between the attachment point of the hydraulic ram on the boom structure and the main pivot point of the jaw assembly can be varied between interchangeable jaw assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20050262700
Abstract: A blade stabilizer device for a heavy-duty material handling demolition tool for shearing and crushing scrap material which includes a lower jaw connected to the boom structure of a hydraulic system of an excavator has an upper jaw pivotally connected to and closable upon the lower jaw at a pivot point. The blade stabilizing device consists of a wear guide pad supported by the lower jaw adjacent the pivot point slidably engaging the movable upper jaw to keep the upper jaw in close engagement with the lower jaw. The wear guide pad is mounted behind the pivot point. A second wear guide pad may be mounted in front of the pivot point on the opposite side of the upper jaw to cross-brace the upper jaw.

  • Publication number: 20050115076
Abstract: A heavy-duty demolition shear with a replaceable shearing tip has a lower jaw and an upper jaw piviotally connected to the lower jaw. The upper jaw has primary and secondary shear blades. A replaceable shearing tip is mounted to the upper jaw. The replaceable shearing tip has two L-shaped sections which engage the upper jaw between them. The replaceable shearing tip engages the upper jaw on at least three seats. The replaceable shearing tip is connected to the upper jaw by socket-head cap-screws.
