  • Publication number: 20060268490
Abstract: The invention is directed towards an efficient and ozone free ion generator in which the ion emitter is open to the surrounding space while the collector is provided by electrical ground remote and away from the ion emitter. In the case of a household generator, the ground is the electrical ground of the house. In the case of a car generator, the ground is the car frame. A safety circuit is arranged to turn the high voltage off if a hand or other body member (or pet) comes near or touches the exposed emitter to prevent electrical shock.

  • Publication number: 20060107834
Abstract: An electrostatic room air cleaner includes a housing having a given profile and a plurality of electrostatic precipitation collector units arrayed in the housing with a common fan to circulate room air through the plurality of electrostatic precipitation collector units simultaneously. A total clean air delivery rate is delivered that is determined as the arithmetic sum of the clean air delivery rates of the plurality of electrostatic precipitation collector units arrayed in the housing of given profile. The greater the number of units arrayed, the smaller may be their size, and the easier they are to handle, maintain and replace.

  • Publication number: 20050211285
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobility aiding device, such as a walker, a wheelchair, a transport chair, a shower seat or a rollator, for use in providing support to injured or ailing persons during activity or movement. According to the present invention a solid two-piece seating platform is provided with a structural support for distributing the weight of the user to the frame. Furthermore, the two pieces of the seating platform are inter-hinged, enabling the entire device to fold up into a storage position. A lock is provided for maintaining the structural support in place, and a handle is provided for facilitating folding the device into the storage position.

  • Patent number: 5598942
Abstract: A waste disposal bin assembly comprises an outer casing having a sidewall and an open top. A self-supporting insert member conforms to the internal shape of the sidewall and has an upper rim located below a top edge of the sidewall. A disposable bag is inserted in the insert member and has an upper portion folded over the rim of the insert member and tucked between the insert member and an inner surface of the sidewall. In this way, the disposable bag can be neatly retained within the waste disposal bin.
