    Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for coating a web. The method comprises the steps of (a) applying a coating material to a surface of the moving web at an application point; and then, (b) directing a jet of gas towards each surface of the web simultaneously at least one of the edges of the web to remove a portion of the coating material from said at least one edge. This enables a substantially uniform coating to be formed over the entire width of the web.
