  • Patent number: 6691954
Abstract: This invention is directed to a novel integrated kite control bar and controlled tension release safety device for use in kite boarding. More particularly, this invention pertains to an integrated kite control bar and controlled tension release safety device which can be activated by a kite boarder by moving the control bar against a safety release device. A kite control bar and safety release device comprising: (a) a kite control bar; (b) a center line associated with the kite control bar and having a first end and a second end; (c) a safety release device associated with the first end of the center line on a first side of the control bar; (d) a hook engaging loop associated with the second end of the center line, on a side of the control bar opposite to the safety release device, and being linked to the safety release device, said loop being openable when the control bar is advanced against the safety release device at the first end of the center line.

  • Patent number: 6635072
Abstract: A hand tool having first and second handle portions and a toothed bar that has first and second terminal ends, a plurality of teeth having free ends, and at least one shield member adjacent the teeth and having at least a portion which extends beyond the free ends of the teeth, wherein the toothed bar is pivotally attached at its first terminal end to a first handle portion and the teeth of the toothed bar engage with a pawl associated with the second handle. The invention is also directed to a safety ratchet mechanism for preventing undesired relative movement of two handle portions of a hand tool, wherein the toothed bar has a first end that is pivotally connected to at least one handle portion and a second end adapted and configured to move relative to the second handle portion when the handle portions undergo relative movement, and wherein the toothed bar has a plurality of teeth that are designed to interact with a pawl.

  • Patent number: 6155311
Abstract: A system for conditioning the leads of a semiconductor device. The system includes a base having anvil surfaces configured to form the leads to a predetermined shape, and forming arms mounted to the base. An actuator is movable relative to the base to move the forming arms from a first position, with the forming arm spaced from the leads, to a second position, with the forming arm urging the leads against the anvil surface to form the leads to a predetermined configuration. Adjustment means adjust the position of said anvil and arms. A video scanner scans sample semiconductor devices and generates lead dimension and configuration signals. A processor processes said signals and applies the processed signals to the adjustment means to form leads of a semiconductor device to predetermined dimensions and configuration.

  • Patent number: 4331961
Abstract: The coupling of radio signals, to and from the surface of a conductive body and to and from associated radio apparatus is optimized by adding, proximate to the edge of an opening (such as a window) in the body, a closed loop of relatively highly conductive material, such as copper, and coupling said radio signals to said associated radio apparatus through a plurality of interconnected adjacent loops proximate to said closed loop to maintain proper proportion of E fields and H fields in the signals fed to associated radio apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4160977
Abstract: By forcing the resonance in the medium-wave spectrum of the electromagnetic loop antenna or antennas formed by a shunting conductor in combination with a series connected capacitor shunting a window opening in an automobile body and coupling to an output conductor through the distributed capacitance and mutual inductance provided by close physical proximity between such output conductor and such shunting conductor, such output conductor terminating at one end in at least one antenna element having electrostatic antenna characteristics, an output signal from the antenna is obtained which exhibits the electrostatic-noise rejection characteristics of a loop antenna and the omni-directional characteristics of a vertical whip-type antenna, while, at the same time, the impedance of the system is compatible with standard radio-tuner input circuits.

  • Patent number: 4098007
Abstract: A device for controlling the rate at which air is exhausted from a textile drying oven including means for withdrawing gas from the interior of the oven, a heater for heating the withdrawn gas, a catalyst bed for combusting the heated gas, a differential thermocouple for measuring the difference in the temperature between the gas entering the catalyst bed and the gas leaving the catalyst bed and means for varying the rate of exhaust from the oven in response to variations in the temperature difference across the catalyst bed.
