  • Patent number: 6179280
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically closing and/or opening of the envelope closing flap for any sized envelope when stacked together. This device makes use of a vacuum transfer device using suction cups along with a drive roller and camming device for selectively gripping and moving individual envelopes through the system. The envelopes, if open, will be stacked upright in a feed tray and, if closed, will be stacked inverted in the feed tray and will be passed to two main drive rollers as a burst of air is emitted from a wedge to change the orientation of the closing flap from a first position to a second position. This can be used for opening or closing of such flaps. The device also includes a housing with multiple rollers powered therein along with a connecting rod assembly and cam member for selectively supplying vacuum to the pivotally movable suction powered vacuum transfer device.

  • Patent number: 5415094
Abstract: An inking roller which includes a plurality of ribs on the exterior thereof and a plurality of recesses for holding ink in between the individual ribs. The inking roller is adapted to be rotated upon contact with a conventional ink fountain and is selectively capable of being locked to prevent rotation thereof at certain times when in contact with the engraving die. The inking roller is adapted to apply engraving ink to the engraving die in the engraving areas thereof and is adapted to wipe the non-engraving areas of the engraving die with the external ribbing on the exterior surface of the cylindrical inking roller.

  • Patent number: 5195435
Abstract: A continuous multi-station intaglio printing system enables use of a continuous web of letterhead paper or business card stock to which various indicia of single of multiple colors may be engraved in precise registration and subsequently severed or die cut into individual sheets of letterhead paper or business cards of regular or irregular shape. Each engraving station includes a hydraulic press to perform the engraving operation by means of an engraving die. The engraving die is removably mounted to a support using aligned pins and openings to effect precise registration of the engraving die. Registration of the engraving die, as well as a cutting die, may be precisely obtained with respect to the indicia on the engraved web material using a photo optic sensor for detecting a registration mark on the web material. Precision multi-colored engraving, as well as precision die cutting of the web material may be obtained in a multi-station intaglio printing system.

  • Patent number: 4417729
Abstract: A racket stringing apparatus having a racket frame clamp assembly pivotably mounted to a base. The racket frame clamp assembly includes support arms for carrying the frame clamps. The support arms are such that they allow the clamps to be self-centering with respect to the vertical axis of the base. A tension head assembly is mounted on a beam that is also connected to the base. The tension head assembly is capable of reciprocating movement along the beam. When a sufficient initial tension is placed on the strings, a portion of the tension head assembly is locked in place by a brake. The brake forces the tension head assembly to pivot and this pivoting action automatically actuates a driving means that applies and maintains a predetermined final tension on the string.
