  • Publication number: 20090270928
Abstract: A navigation tracker fixation device system is provided that comprises a plate that is placed at a generally longitudinal axis of a patient's bone and having at least one hole and operable to receive a member for coupling the plate to the bone. A post is provided that is coupled to the plate and operable to extend beyond a surgical site. A tracker component may be coupled to the plate, the post or both the plate and the post, and the post enables the tracker component to be positioned within the surgical site while remaining away from an articular surface resection area of the bone. The tracker component remains within the surgical site during resection of the bone. Preferably, the surgical tracking system is provided to verify bone resection or knee kinematics, without a need to remove or replace the tracker component from the surgical site, during the procedure.
