Abstract: An implement and method to cut and seal the end of synthetic hair braids by melting and fusing together the hair strands of the braid includes two opposing blades with small flat edges which touch each other and are intended to hold a braid to be cut and sealed between them. Heat is applied to the place the braid is held by the implement which may be by an external stove, attached heating elements or internal heating means which can be electrically powered.

Abstract: A stove for heating curling irons which is characterized by having an internal cavity member to receive irons, a case with an especially compact, attractive shape, a tubular heater (with controller) positioned therebelow to very efficiently heat irons placed in the cavity member, and insulation within the case sufficient to prevent the exterior thereof being hot enough to burn a user. The heater is essentially only adjacent to curling irons to be heated and remotely displaced from the outer surface areas of the case likely to be touched.

Abstract: A curling iron system which, in addition to conventional mechanical elements of base, curling irons, ovens, holders and the like, utilizes an accurate temperature measurement and display capability adapted for use by salon personnel without sophisticated technical know-how. The temperature measurement is implemented by a thermocouple and the display is implemented using a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) connected to the thermocouple by a thermocouple amplifier and a display driver. The combination of thermocouple, LED display and intermediate electronics, operates to provide an accurate indication of the actual surface temperature of the curling iron and thus assure that the iron will be precisely the appropriate temperature for curling or straightening the particular thickness hair being serviced. In the preferred embodiment disclosed herein, the thermocouple is mounted on a platform adjacent the oven and the display is positioned on a vertically oriented member behind the thermocouple platform.

Abstract: This is an organizer and holder for hair styling irons and a heater stove sized and balanced to conveniently fit in an ordinary stylist work station.It includes a series of tubular receptacles (for holding hair irons) supported by a rigid, curved, band-shaped strap rising from a supporting base.The base has means to secure a heater stove in place and has a utility tray for holding a working iron.
