  • Publication number: 20240069635
Abstract: In at least some implementations, a screen assembly, includes a screen, an internal structure, an isolating material and an actuator. The screen has an outer surface and an input area, and the internal structure is behind the outer surface and defines part of a chamber behind the input area. The isolating material is within the chamber, and the actuator is behind the screen and arranged to provide haptic output to the input area. The isolating material damps the haptic output to reduce transmission of the haptic output to portions of the screen outside of the input area.

  • Patent number: 9970768
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a motor vehicle information management system for use in a motor vehicle. The system incorporates a radio system which has a display system, and a remotely located processor-based inference engine. The inference engine automatically, wirelessly receives information inputs from the radio system in real time pertaining to at least one of a real time location of the vehicle and at least one of a destination of travel of the vehicle or a status of operation of the vehicle. The inference engine may analyzes the information inputs and determines new information, in real time, that is useful to the vehicle operator, and automatically transmits the new information wirelessly to the radio system for use by the user. The display system automatically displays the new information to the vehicle operator.

  • Patent number: 9457632
Abstract: A method and system of avoiding a collision between an object attached to a rear of a vehicle and an object behind the vehicle during reverse maneuvering of the vehicle includes determining with an electronic control unit of the vehicle an adjusted top height of a first object attached to a rear of the vehicle. The electronic control unit then determines whether the adjusted top height is lower than a clearance height of a second object behind the vehicle and unattached to the vehicle. Upon determining that the adjusted top height of the first object is not lower than the clearance height of the second object, the electronic control unit determines that the first object would collide with the second object if the vehicle is reverse maneuvered too close to the second object and upon determining that the collision would occur alerting a user of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8972178
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reporting occupied and unoccupied parking spaces are disclosed. The techniques include determining that a mobile computing device has entered a parking area and determining whether the mobile computing device has entered a pedestrian mode. The pedestrian mode is indicative of a user of the mobile computing device parking a vehicle and exiting the vehicle. When the mobile computing device has entered the pedestrian mode, the technique includes determining a first location of the mobile computing device at a first time corresponding to the mobile computing device entering the pedestrian mode, and providing an occupied notification to a remote computing device, the occupied notification including the first location and indicating that a parking spot corresponding to the first location is occupied. Techniques are further disclosed for reporting unoccupied parking spaces to the mobile computing device.
