    Abstract: Water jet propulsion unit is attachable to a floating structure and propels the structure by discharging water laterally out of jet under water level. In the rest position, the jet is shrouded so that net thrust is downward and, when activated, the jet is discharged laterally into the water. Net thrust is controlled by control of the vertical angle of the jet into the water.
