  • Patent number: 5230583
Abstract: A pick hole plug for sealing an opening in a manhole cover and the process for using such plug. The plug is formed from a soft uncured rubber polymer which has a larger diameter than the hole which it is to seal. The plug is compressed by hand and inserted into the pick hole. The plug deforms to conform to the shape of the sides of the pick hole and cures over a period of time as the heat and sunlight contact it.

  • Patent number: 5038487
Abstract: An attachment for a framer's square which permits the framer's square to be self supporting on a flat, horizontal surface. The attachment has an elongated support bar with two clips which may be inserted over a blade of a framer's square. This attachment, when inserted on the inner edge of the framer's square, facilitates the scribing of a right-angle line to a rounded edge and when placed on an outer edge, permits the square to be free standing.

  • Patent number: 4934715
Abstract: An improved gasket for use with manhole covers. The gasket is of the type which is fabricated from rubber and is held in a circular groove formed in the flat cover support surface of a cast iron frame of the type which holes a manhole cover. The manhole cover fits in the frame and rests on the gasket. The improved gasket has a vertical portion which is generally rectangular which fits into the circular groove. The gasket also has a horizontal portion which extends beyond the groove and onto the flat cover support surface of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4117991
Abstract: A relatively inexpensive but highly reliable electrically powered hose winding mechanism, particularly well adapted for rewinding auxiliary fire hose and the like. In the disclosed perferred embodiment, a smooth horizontally disposed rolling table has a free rolling hose guide means located near its outer edge, and a flush mounted wind plate means centrally located in an opening near its center. A pivotally mounted conventional electrical motor applies the power through pulleys and belts and a special pivotally mounted intermediate speed reduction means to allow reduction in r.p.m. from a range utilized in a conventional small electric motor to a range suitable for winding of hose. A variable speed control is preferably provided to assist the operator, and a special garden hose adapter is disclosed.
