  • Patent number: 5142779
Abstract: A heavy duty mobile wood and tire shear having a lower stationary jaw rigidly attachable to the dipper stick of a hydraulic excavator. The lower jaw has a forwardly extending face plate for receiving and supporting the workpiece with two forwardly extending tines. An upper C-shaped swingable jaw is pivotally mounted to the lower jaw and connected to the hydraulic cylinder of the dipper stick. The swingable jaw has a cutting blade with a knife-like edge. The upper jaw swings between open and closed positions relative to the lower jaw as to bring the cutting blade down upon the face plate as to penetrate and shear through wood. Shearing blades are releasably affixable along the knife-like edge of the cutting blade and along the face plate as to bring the shearing blades into shearing relation as the upper jaw approaches the closed position as to also shear through tires.

Abstract: A demolition tool for attachment to the boom structure and hydraulic system of a hydraulic excavator having a pair of jaws pivotally connected together as to be mountable on the frame of the tool by a movable pin so that the jaws may be placed with other jaws having other forms of demolition characteristics. The jaws may be a shear for steel or other structural material, including concrete, and the jaws may be a concrete crusher, a rock or coral breaker, a wood shear, a plate shear, or other form of demolition device. Both jaws are swingable and independently swingable, operated by a common manifold supplying hydraulic fluid to the cylinders. The jaws swing through operational arcs and are arranged so that the direction of thrust from the cylinders is tangential to the pin connecting the cylinders to the jaws at a location intermediate the ends of the operational arcs.

Abstract: A tray-like receptacle or container for catching falling debris from bridge deck demolitions is disclosed. The receptacle extends under a bridge deck and a support arm affixed to an end of the receptacle is disposed above the bridge deck. A crane suspends the receptacle with a cable attached to the support arm and another cable affixed to the receptacle is drawn in to tilt the receptacle so that crushed, collected concrete slides off an open end of the receptacle and into a dump truck. • Patent number: 4703968
Abstract: The present invention is a grapple for orienting track rails. The grapple includes a front tine and rear tine arcuate in shape and pivotally secured to a bottom end of a frame and depending therefrom to tip ends. Each tine defines an inner concave surface, and the tines are mounted to the frames so that the concave surfaces face towards each other. The front tine includes a knob portion integral with its tip end that extends outwardly from its inner concave surface towards the inner concave surface of the back tine. The tines are operated by a pair of hydraulic cylinders, and each tine includes a plurality of gear teeth extending from the end thereof that is secured to the frame. The gear teeth are enmeshed and provide for coincidental opening and closing of the tines by operation of the hydraulic cylinders.
