  • Patent number: 4588128
Abstract: A folding boom for agricultural sprayers comprising a center frame section mounted in the bed of a truck on a trailer. First and second boom assemblies normally extend outwardly from the center section with each of the first and second boom assemblies comprising inner, intermediate and outer boom sections. The inner boom section is connected to the center frame section so that the inner boom section will pivotally move rearwardly if the inner boom section strikes an obstruction. The inner boom section is also connected to the center frame section in such a manner so that the inner boom section may be freely pivotally moved to a transport position. The intermediate boom section is pivotally connected to the outer end of the inner boom section so that the intermediate boom section may pivot rearwardly relative to the inner boom section if the outer or intermediate boom sections strike an obstruction.

  • Patent number: 4210407
Abstract: A litter control assembly for use with a refuse collection vehicle including a drive vehicle having a collection box removably mounted thereon. The litter control assembly comprises a pair of upstanding screen members which extend upwardly from opposite sides of the collection opening in the upper forward end of the refuse collection box. A flexible sheet member is secured to the refuse collection box rearwardly of the collection opening and is secured to the upper rearward ends of the screens to prevent litter from blowing rearwardly therebetween. A crusher panel is pivotally mounted on the vehicle and is positioned between the forward ends of the screen members. Elongated flexible whiskers are secured to the upper ends of the screen members and extend inwardly over the collection opening. A plurality of elongated flexible whiskers are also secured to the upper end of the crusher panel and extend inwardly over the forward end of the opening formed in the collection box.

  • Patent number: 3930690
Abstract: An agitator shaft for revolving attached blades within a fluid containing tank rotates in support bearings free of any attachment to the tank. A shaft mounted housed seal unit exteriorly of the tank comprises a packing gland and a fitting connected by a flexible tubing with the fitting having a bore and the tank having a complementary opening each substantially larger than the diameter of the shaft. The shaft extends axially through the fitting and opening into the tank and the fitting is secured in the opening. The flexible tubing is designed to absorb torque from the seal unit and such unit permits the shaft to be mounted with equal facility and efficiency on tanks of plastic, rubber or metal and materially reduces shaft alignment problems.
