  • Patent number: 4471922
Abstract: A wheel steering linkage includes a first arm pivoted about the wheel steering axis, a second arm pivoted intermediate its ends to the first arm, a third arm pivoted at one end to the second arm and at the other end about a fixed axis, and a fourth variable length arm pivoted at one end to the second arm and at the other end about a fixed axis. The fourth arm may be a servo motor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 4, 1982
Date of Patent: September 18, 1984
    Assignee: Automotive Products plc
    Inventor: Roy Fairclough
  • Patent number: 4065078
Abstract: An aircraft undercarriage suspension includes a liquid filled telescopic suspension strut and a gas spring. Liquid displaced by the strut into the gas spring is selectively directed through alternative flow restrictors, one of which is matched for optimum damping during aircraft landing and the other of which is matched for optimum damping during taxing. A ride control valve operates on the nose wheel undercarriage to control aircraft pitching, the ride control hydraulic system being separated from the damping oil by a floating piston.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 3, 1976
Date of Patent: December 27, 1977
    Assignee: Automotive Products
Inventors: Stanley Frederick Noel Jenkins, Roy Fairclough, Brian Arthur Howard, Frederick Miley
