  • Patent number: 6932684
Abstract: A reciprocal blade lapping machine (20) is taught that is used for sharpening cutting and shearing blades. The lapping machine consists a convex lap plate (32) mounted on an enclosure (22) rotated by an electric motor (34) connected to a speed reducer (36). A lapping compound distribution system is positioned directly above the lap plate and disperses lapping compound (64) onto the convex upper surface (48) of the lap plate providing an abrasive media for removing parent material from a set of blades placed on the lap plate. A conditioning ring (66), including dead weigh within, is rotatably disposed on the lap plate impacting directly upon the rotating lap plate maintaining the convex contour. A pair of reciprocating work piece holders (74) slideably rest on the lap plate, and alternately slide work pieces (76) backward and forward in a straight line on the rotating lap plate upper surface.

  • Publication number: 20020055718
Abstract: A syringe drench adapter for livestock includes a collar having a frustroconical nose and a generally cylindrical skirt extending from the nose which is removably fittable over an end of a syringe, and an elongated tube extending from the nose. The skirt defines a syringe-receiving opening having an inner diameter which is less than an outer diameter of the syringe barrel. The skirt includes a circumferential ridge which extends radially inwardly and is disposed adjacent to the syringe-receiving opening, and a plurality of longitudinal slots extending from the syringe-receiving opening which provide flexion. The slots are disposed about the periphery of the skirt and are configured so as to reveal syringe measurement markings when the collar is fitted over the end of the syringe. The elongated tube defines a fluid passageway having an inlet removably connected to the nose of the collar, and an outlet for the expulsion of fluids.

  • Patent number: 5488926
Abstract: A livestock stand includes a platform having a perforated aluminum sheet upper supporting surface, a headrest assembly, and front and rear leg assemblies connected to the platform, each being pivotable between a first folded position and a second extended position. The headrest assembly includes a livestock headrest connected to a support arm which, in turn, is connected to the platform. Clamp assemblies are provided to permit the support arm to be adjustably positioned relative to the platform, as well as to permit the headrest to be adjustably positioned relative to the support arm. The clamp assemblies have a rigid envelope through which either the support arm or a mounting channel for the livestock headrest slide, and a clamp screw including a friction locking plug. Each leg assembly may be secured in its first and second positions utilizing a spring-loaded lock. The leg assemblies are vertically adjustable to raise and lower the level of the upper supporting surface of the platform.

  • Patent number: 5329882
Abstract: A small livestock head restraint device is provided which can be temporarily secured to a fence for field use in securely capturing the head of a small animal. The small livestock head restraint device includes a vertical support member typically positioned adjacent to fence railings or a cylindrical pole, and a pair of clamps which can be tightened about the railings or pole to securely fix the support member to the fencing. A slider bracket is attached to the support member, and a mounting shaft, having fixed thereto a headrest arm and the animal headrest, is movable vertically within the slider bracket to adjust the height of the animal headrest after the device has been secured to the fencing. In one preferred form, a pair of rail clamps are adjustably fixed to the support member for engaging generally horizontal fence rails. In another preferred form, a pair of pole clamps are attached to the mounting shaft and pivot to grasp a generally vertical pole therebetween.
