Abstract: Disclosed herein is a propellent-driven golf club to propel a ball without requiring a swinging action. Accordingly, the propellent-driven golf club may include a hollow shaft, a handle attached to a top portion of the hollow shaft, and a golf club head assembly attached to a bottom portion of the hollow shaft. Further, the golf club head assembly may include a bar receptacle comprising receptacles configured to receive cartridges, the firing mechanism operationally coupled to the triggering device, a firing cylinder port configured to receive at least a portion of a cartridge, a vortex generator comprising a chamber that may include an ingress port and an egress port, a range control mechanism comprising a range control valve fluidly coupled to the egress port of the chamber, a firing cylinder bore fluidly coupled to an outlet of the range control valve, and a piston movably disposed in the firing cylinder bore.

  • Patent number: 8579721
Abstract: A unique quiet reliable golf club having a Clean Burning Vortex Generator capable of varying the degree of kinetic energy applied to driving a golf ball in a linear fashion, without swinging the club. The striker piston and cylinder are disposed within the golf club head casting that contains a silencing chamber to lower the db output level. The striker piston is propelled outward by a firing mechanism releasing kinetic energy to fire a cartridge. The cartridge injects burning gas pressure into a vortex generator, located at the breech end of the cylinder. The vortex generator eliminates unburned gas and disperses the gas according to a desired distance setting of a ball travel distance scale. The one piece striker piston is sealed with a piston ring and is movable on a hard-coat cylinder-bearing surface that eliminates lubrication for the purpose of driving a golf ball in a new sport played by non-golfers.

  • Publication number: 20130252753
Abstract: A unique quiet reliable golf club capable of driving a golf ball varying distances utilizing a case-less propellant formulation, fired electronically without swinging the club. The golf club contains multiple loads of case-less propellant formulation in a shaft magazine capable of playing an entire game of golf without reloading. The striker piston and cylinder are disposed within the golf club head casting that contains a silencing chamber to lower the db output level. The striker piston is propelled outward by a high pressure gas injected into a vortex generator, located at the breech end of the cylinder. The vortex generator disperses the gas according to a desired distance setting of a ball travel distance scale. The one piece striker piston is sealed with a piston ring and is movable on a hard-coat cylinder-bearing surface that eliminates lubrication.

  • Patent number: 6139440
Abstract: A cartridge holder for a ballistic impeller golf-club of the type having a piston and a explosive charge disposed within the head of the golf club. The piston is adapted to travel outwardly from the club head in response to a rapidly expanding gas produced by the explosive charge. A golf-ball, disposed proximate to the club, is struck by the piston, thereby causing the golf-ball to travel a predetermined distance. The cartridge holder is adapted to be rotatably disposed on the golf club to rotated about an axis of symmetry with a plurality of cartridges retained by the cartridge holder so as to produce a rapidly expanding gas along a direction transverse to the axis of symmetry.

  • Patent number: 5924932
Abstract: A golf club having a retractor system disposed in the club head. The retractor system may be pneumatic, which allows pressure from an expanding gas to alternatingly operate on opposite sides of a seal ring attached to a piston. The golf club includes a hollow shaft extending from one end and terminating in a club head. The club head includes a piston cylinder extending from a gas injection port terminating proximate to a front face of the club head. A feed chamber is disposed on each side of the piston cylinder, each of which is in fluid communication therewith. A piston is disposed within the cylinder and includes a ring seal at one end. The ring seal forms a fluid tight seal with the walls of the piston cylinder. A receptacle, adapted to provide a rapidly expanding gas, is disposed proximate to the injection port to direct expanding gas therethrough, moving the piston away from the injection port.

  • Patent number: 5522594
Abstract: A golf club for impelling a golf ball without swinging. The club uses expanding gas generated by an exploding charge to move a piston having an attached strike plate against a golf ball, impelling the ball down the fairway toward the green. The club is prepared for use by inserting an explosive charge and cocking the firing mechanism. The club is fired by placing the head of the club a short distance behind the ball, aiming the ball by aligning the striking plate with the ball, releasing a safety, and triggering the firing mechanism.
